I would say not to jump the gun until after the 16th of March as has been mentioned. It would be unfortunate if this didn't come to AUS though, I would quite like that dragon.

exactly im australian and ive nvr had any problems gettin my hands on collector editions for the games i want my partner is manager at eb games n she said computers arent updated daily with new info about new and upcoming games cause ive been naggin her to let me preorder the CE edition lmao.. she said 1st thing on the 16th when opens the shop shes gonna ring me with yay or nay so waiting til then xD
Please give us a response... This is very sad news if it proves true...
I do think that these companies (EB and JB HiFi) do not have very good systems and it might end up there is no problem. After all we do get plenty of Pre Order things from other games.
Edit: Just called my local EB - They have no idea. The game isn't in the system and they asked me to call back in a few days.

I am in Europe and here is the same thing, I have to pay in EUR or GBP my currency is neither of the two. Shops dont have it, arent even informed about it...so yeah...as usual no collector or physical stuff as it looks. In fact I dont foresee the official release in this part of the world, before end of the year....as in available in stores..which is more or less what it has always been 6 months after the release in the US. ohh did I mention that shops DONT take pre-orders??? never ? in the grand scheme is not important though either accept or stop playing..so really
Speak of everybody at the same level...

Which may mean Australia will miss out anyway. SE don't really update or sell collectors editions on their SE store in Australia (and England. Usually France, Sweden or Germany get the CE stuff). Heck, you can't even buy the Before Meteor or A Realm Reborn soundtrack. Had to use cdjapan :/

I got my soundtrack through ebay, got massively overcharged and the guy selling tried to give me a copy without the in-game item code, by labelling it as "new" when it was already opened... I don't get why SE can't just ship this stuff to AUS/NZ via the EU or USA store, but with increased postage (which I would totally pay to be able to buy directly instead of from dodgy 3d party sellers)Which may mean Australia will miss out anyway. I think everyone is being a little overly pessimistic here - EB Games only opens up preorders when the distributors/publishers inform them of the release date. SE stated preorders start on the 16th. Hence it's highly likely that day or sometime shortly after will be when EB Games will have 3.0 available for preorder.
And before you pass judgement, EB Games in Australia does indeed stock collectors editions of games - over the years it's how I got my CE versions of FFVIII, FFXIII, both Dissidias, FFXIV version 1.0 and ARR after all. Just have patience.![]()
Enkidoh, I would love to be more optimistic however I was told yesterday (10th) that GameStop (the parent company and owner of EB Games) that it looks like I would have to purchase the physical Collector's Edition from SE's online store. This information did not come from a part-timer, Hourly Manager, Assistant Manager, Store Manager, or even a District Manager. This information came from a Warehouse supervisor, wherein it is their job to allocate space for product holding in their warehouses; they know what they will be getting at least 3 months in advance to prepare. Unless SE is deliberately shooting themselves in the foot by not giving these companies forewarning, I think it might be safe to say SE Online Store only, like the past couple collector editions have been.
Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix CE
Drakengard III CE
FF Type-0 (until it wasn't selling on their online store, was when they pushed to to the store level...and its still not selling; which will not be the case with Heavensward CE)
FF X/X-2 CE (not to be confused with the limited edition)
Lightning Return's CE
Just to name a few.
This. I think you covered all of the CEs other than Curtain Call and ARR PS4, both of which were also SE online store exclusives.I think it might be safe to say SE Online Store only, like the past couple collector editions have been.

It's quite obvious at this point that the Heavensward CE will be an exclusive as well. A Realm Reborn (PC/PS3) was the last Square Enix collector's edition to be a proper, wide release. The new trend is to simply give retailers a first print "Limited Edition" that comes with little things like a pin or art cards and not release the proper CEs outside of the Square Enix store.
