Just look at the hard numbers, Shiroifushicho has posted. And all this is getting much more brutal at higher Race Ranks and as said before in this thread: a foul weather chocobo does not have that harsh problems.Mine is a foul weather chocobo and I'm still on my first generation chocobo (which still beats 2nd or higher gen chocobos) so I can't compare performance, but even in blistering I've still pulled off wins, and in foul weather I've still lost as low as forth place. - When the weather isn't on your side, you can counter it in other ways, just try not to push your chocobo too hard (lathered = stamina drops much faster, try to save around 10-15% for the final 100-200 yalms then push hard and stick to the middle; except for Sagolii, hard left or right at the final turn to avoid red pad) and make mental notes on when others slow down on the track. Good luck.
Naa, I don't dispute it. If that's the case, then there clearly is a balancing issue which probably should be rectified although I would have thought this would have been spotted internally by QA as anyone with a fair weather chocobo is at an instant disadvantage over anyone with a foul weather chocobo? This is likely why I don't see much of a disparity in performance between different weathers then. This said, nothing will get looked at unless enough players with fair weather chocobos bring it up as an issue. Maybe bring it up in the bug tracker (if there is one) and refer other players with fair weather chocobos to it to vote it up?

Yeah i tried to manage at many diffrent way the stamina, full stop on w key when rain, small stops on w key to remove maximum of lathered states, tiny stop to remove 1,2 or few lathered states... In almost all cases, i finish 7-8th, best cases 6th. So, on sagolii race i basicaly prefere to invest a little in stamina and pray for items.
Other then that, when i leveled my second 6th grade, i noticed i got problemes starting the very CAT100. I don't know why, may be rain weather begin to come very often starting CAT100, or even may be the malus of rain is somehow amplified starting CAT100, or may be i am wrong and i was lucky so far to CAT100. I didn't make any tests for these thoeries.
Knowing that the pedigree grade of your chocobo can make it weaker at some point on its middle CAT, and with the weather starting to trick me down....lol i jumped from 1st-3rd places to 4-8th places on that level up, even with a good feeding.

Problem may be, that at a Speed of 10 you only lose 2 when it is reduced by 20%. If you are at a speed of 100, you lose 20, so the malus is becoming bigger and bigger. But of course I don't know their code.Other then that, when i leveled my second 6th grade, i noticed i got problemes starting the very CAT100. I don't know about that, could be a good theory but i know something what i am sure of, thanks to a stats failed grade 5 chocobo (which i will always remember the hard time it gave to me).
It was a choco basicaly with 5 stars on max speed, and still a good stamina / end (4 & 5 stars). The random pts on each level went crazy on maxspeed and even if i had very good stamina, he was consumming so much i could not finish the 2/3 of a track without being 0% stamina. And not matter what i was doing, i was loosing to 0% including rank 25~ to 40. I noticed at that time, even if that speed was wayyyyyyy above anything linving in the current races, i was capped on top pnj speed (speaking of the looking of the speed in race). Though ! i was consumming extremly more than him, a value that certainly matches the uncapped maxspeed. And with the rain, it was even worse, i was out of stamina @ less than 50% of the trackn while i couldn't doublecross the fastest pnj lol
Does weather even affect NPCs?

it's like when they have tonic and you too, they gain 50% more power than you
in our case, when it's rainy, they seems to suffer aswell [if only they are fair-weather, which sometimes not], but only at 50% rate than you
It's rainy, you see them suffer, but you suffer more and if u don't have a positive item, you will certainly loose positions and loose to the one front of you

It's very hard to tell, because they got uber Chocobos anyway. My chocobo got absolut TOP stats on speed and even with good weather, still 2-4 of the 8 chocobos ran faster than mine, without any buff. They pretty much only lose, because they make randomly mistakes, for example stop speeding just for fun, don't collect chests or they also like to step into those stamina drain traps. That's around R-160.

Finally got a fool chocobo back after 3 generation on fair, im so happy ! Y .Y
Man... till level 24 i just got only one single loose haha ! this is crazy
Mine is foul, too, now. Even while Stamina is bad and all other star ratings worse than before, it's not even near the problems I got with my fair chocobo.
