If you don't know where to spend money, try to make penta-melded crafted parts (those ones that become bis, not just everything) for your DoW jobs. And you will quickly find yourself needing more money.

I support this, it means someone can't be better than me at every single class. Like at the moment, I have a dedicated friend with every Lucis tool and the ability to 4-star HQ on every class. We all just use that person for everything we need -- they are always ahead of the rest of us. With the proposed new system, I might be useful to my friends on one class at least, even if this other person spends 10 times more hours on crafting, I will have a specialization to make me the go-to person for that particular thing. We will still be able to use every class on one character, just not to the maximum extent.

Thank you.If SE is steering the crafting system that direction, I'm not going to like it. The restrictions on desynth leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but at least there wasn't many instances where a single desynth class was the only way to obtain something (the exception I believe is the cooking's glamour items received from some fish).
That's one of the reasons that I enjoy this game, one character for all content.
Yes this is one of the most powerfully attractive things about FFXIV - only one character needed. Now I have to start making Alts and leveling them. Its not that hard to level a DoH class to be honest but Really? This is what its come to? Very disappointed.
Well that stinks! I just started playing and am really enjoying having multiple crafting abilities on one character. It was one of the main reasons I decided to buy the game.![]()

This was my thought as well. Rarely do I buy anything other than minions from the MB. Maybe they're finally trying to change that.
There isn't enough demand for specialization. I can only make so much with a particular craft each day, so I diversify. The fun is in flexibility and being able to find holes in the market. I don't know if I'll end up continuing if this is restrictive.
For me, profit is the point. Its like a score. How high can I get? How much more money can I have than my competition? I couldn't spend my high score in Galaga either.
