The rather harsh posting restrictions.

Yeah, when I 1st started posting here I didn't like how limited I could post per day. I always thought the amount depended on the amount of stars you have on your name. Ex: 1 gray star = 10 posts a day.

Such limitation probably might be a contributing factor as to why reddit seems to be more active in comparison to the official forums.

If you think the posting restrictions are bad, wait until you get to post a grand total of 0 because your opinion that "Fluffy kittens are cute and cuddly" offended someone and you get permad for 'creating a hostile environment' or some such.

Seriously though, even the max 20 posts per day thing needs to go.

I think it would be helpful for the community if there was a sticky in general mentioning these. Especially for new players, since apparently anyone below level 50 is restricted from posting in a pretty harsh fashion?


I couldn't find any post on the topic myself, so I was very much surprised to counter a posting limit. My first forum ever where I actually hit one. (or knew one existed! )

Community Rep Gildrein actually did post an official thread stating these restrictions when it was first added to the site (when the game was launched, way back in August 2013), but sadly it got buried under other official update threads, meaning unless you happened to know what to look for you would never have known it was even there: Forum Design and Features-Update (Aug. 22).

It's worth mentioning also that Gildrein did note that this might change when 'updates are made in the future' so it's entirely possible SE may remove these restrictions eventually.

But for the time being they're easy enough to deal with.
