Chocobo DNF Exp - HORRIBLE Idea

I don't know why this was implemented (I hope it was overlooked and not chosen), but it's a TERRIBLE idea to give DNF chocobos exp at all, especially the same as 8th place. There are a TON of people already exploiting this; queue up, go afk, win big. Not a good thing. Please remove the exp/mgp for DNF chocobos (or at the very least, significantly hamper it).

Not all that sure why people are exploiting this. I mean you nees to be there to accept the race... The most you get afk is like 2-3 mins. Hardly enough time to make a coffee... Or am I missing something?

Once you hit accept, you can just leave your computer entirely for 5 minutes until the race is over and get the same exp as someone that's actually sitting there trying to earn their keep.

I really wouldn't call it winning "big" given how small the reward in general is. It's essentially twice as long as someone that actually tries (maybe even just holds down the accelerate button/key). Still a good amount though for being something you can easily abuse. Unless you bot, in which case, it can do way more than just accept a race. Unless it becomes a thing, it's not TOO big of a deal. Even if one or two players are AFK, you still win in the end. You don't have to deal with NPCs or other players that could potentially outperform you. And truth be told, they're most likely not going to be doing it at the higher tier brackets, which is generally where truly competitive play is expected.

Yeah, it sucks to see people abusing a fun system, similar to how some have apparently abused their TT Tournament points, but it's inevitably going to happen. Unlike the Tournament though, AFK players in racing are more of a benefit to your win than they are to your loss. I guess that's a bright side to it... a disgustingly corrupt bright side lol. Still, if it gets out of hand, expect nerfs to happen. At the same time, if a nerf happens, expect it to impact your win rewards (positively or negatively is up for discussion).

It's really just one of those things that one can do with little to no effort involved, while still making progress. Accept a race, then come back whenver you want. Doesn't really matter if you don't show up immediately after it ends, since it'd be no different than you being AFK like normal.

I'm browsing the forums right now, while also chain producing HQ materials with a macro. It's a low level material, so I need to activate a new one every 30 seconds orso. However, with windows resized all it requires is a few clicks.
I hear a lot of people do this while watching entire movies.


I imagine the same can do done with chocobo racing, but with less effort (only need a few quite clicks each 2-3 minutes.


So basically: Watch movie, earn 40-50 ranks for your chocobo while watching, is the reason why they are using the exploit.

I would disagree with that. It's winning big because you don't really need to even be playing the game, and you still get tons of experience (over time). Kind of like botting.


I'm not really sure what my own opinion on this exploit is tho. Being a crafter who massproduces a lot I can understand why people afk race. On the other hand I can also understand those penalized by having to wait 30 seconds longer for their next match. That would be a 25% increase in time it takes them to rank up.
