Well, I do believe it costs 50 MGP to race at all, and it takes getting at least 6th place to get that 50 back. So I don't see how they are accomplishing any thing.

Heck I didn't remember. I ran like.... 5 races before I got bored of Gold Saucer Entirely. Turns out I despise Triple Triad in FF14 just as much as I did in FF8 and Choco Racing is just as tedious and un rewarding as it was in FF10. Not even sure if I'll make 8000 MGP by the time my sub Expires on the 18th.

Why do you care?

I have seen people complaining about this, but as of yet, none of them have offered any kind of rational argument about how this hurts them or impacts their progress negatively.

Because game design that encourages non-interaction as the most rational way to earn a reward is unsustainable game design that will slowly kill the content except for anyone but bots?
