Yeah, some troll elf dude decided to stand on top of the catgirl npc...I've been kinda hoping they add little pedestals for the NPCs to stand on so that they're high enough as to not be blocked by the tallest players, or some kind of small barrier around each NPC so that players can't stand on top of their models.
This is all well and good, but some people aren't familiar with the emotes of other races and might not recognize them. There's a reason there is 1 of each race/clan about the area. I could probably use the highlander female up above from now on, as I fantasia'd from one myself, but honestly NONE of the NPCs should be able to be blocked at all in he first place. I support putting the grounded npcs in a barrier or on pillar of some kind to stop trolling like this from happening.
Honestly, I didn't even know there were NPCs on the platform, lol. I always have it zoomed out, so I just look at the NPCs above me and follow their motions. I'd just suggest doing that if you can't see the others. They can't block the ones up there![]()
How about you hide Other PC Names display option? I got no issue playing Triple Triad with NPCs with that option set as is, and there are like 50 people camping the crap outta Indolent Imperial on Ragnarok lol

Hiding player names doesn't hide players... I don't see how this solves anything. The problem is that the other player is physically covering the target NPC so you cannot see the emotes they are doing.
I personally just use the platform suspended above the stage which has four NPCs up there doing the emotes as well but I wish they had one of each race up there... as a Lalafell I sometimes have no clue what emote I'm looking at because all the NPCs up above are Hyur.
even if you cant see to target then npc you can just use num pad 0 to target it.
I'm curious, after a number of times (and enough people yelling in shout chat about it) would this be considered a reportable offence? Preventing/hampering players from enjoying the game or along lines like that? There's a couple of people who were at it all day every time that GATE popped and I got to a point where I would gladly report them >.>;
I've gotten lucky with members of my fc calling out ones I couldn't see because of some asshole players (people always block the lalas and catgirls on my server).
It is definitely reportable. Anything that disrupts gameplay is banned by the ToS and a reportable offense. From the User Agreement:
It's right above the prohibition against using profanity in game, which is also a reportable offense.3.2 Disruption. You may not in any way disrupt or interfere with the Game experience of other players, including the disruption of Square Enix's computers and servers.
For those who were unaware, the following are offenses that can lead to administrative actions taken against your account (warnings, jailing, temporary account ban, account deletion, etc): Profanity, using names of copyrighted characters, naming your character after a celebrity, sharing your login info with anyone*, and running your own casino in game via /random**. I'm pretty sure standing on a summoning bell can also be considered disruption of gameplay and a reportable offense. I'm certain that vote-kicking someone at the end of a dungeon so you can have a friend join in progress is reportable under the User Agreement, as that is a disruption of the game experience of another player. If not, it's still reportable for other reasons (any vote-kick abuse is confirmed to be reportable, though it's also confirmed that it's not abuse to kick someone who you just don't like, so that gets into a gray area).
* I'll bet they don't enforce that so much as use that to stop people from getting their accounts back if their ex or someone just pretending to be their friend changes their password and/or steals all their stuff
** Probably because gambling is illegal or regulated in some parts of the world
