Huge Problem W/Loot Gluttony On JP Servers

This is getting old very fast, no one has to have your best interset in mind. You are not always entitled to gear drops. You may not always get what you want. If this keeps up, I WILL run Low and Hm Dfs at item level for now on. Then what will you say....??

This is not spiteful or greedy behavior. Dungeons yield free items for desynthesis, glamour and company seals, which incentivizes players to revisit earlier dungeons.

You will outlevel dungeon gear so quickly that you should not stress it. There will always be a level-relevant quest or leve you could do for a similar item, anyway.

Exactly^ As a tank who does low level runs of all kinds for his FC mates, the loot is my bread and butter. Always need if you can.

So here's the thing: if I can roll need on something, that's usually because I'm the only class in the dungeon who can. If I can sell plundered sabatons for 15k on Balmung, why shouldn't I? If you wanted a shiny Aetherial axe so badly, then play your marauder instead of telling me I have a moral obligation to feed your alts.

I think the OP should calm down a bit and not go all emo about it.

But so many are missing the point here - OP does not want ppl to not click need so anyone lower can greed it.

I queue as WHM or SCH and can roll need on any caster loot in the lower dungeons.
If I see there is someone leveling his BLM or whatever and his item is inferior, last thing I would think of is rolling need against them for that pathetic amount of seals.

It's a decision everyone has to make for them selves, but rolling need in such a situation is very egoistic, no need to sugarcoat it.

Love her as I may (as a friend), I have an FC member who does exactly that. Plenty of times I see her roll on something and think "You don't even PLAY that class!" But if it's something I really want, I'll just go back without her.

And yeah, my guess is people probably do it for the seals or desynthing these days. Irritating at times, but I wouldn't say it warrants a change on the loot system.

To Vlad's point why is the OP's (a player in the dungeon to get XP, something more valuable than any loot) reason for getting loot > than a lvl50 who would desynth/SB/GC turn-in the item?

Before you say "there's other ways items to desynth/SB/GC etc" there's also other ways for OP to get gear.

I may be in the minority here or maybe it's just because I haven't gotten far into end-game stuff, but I click pass on anything that isn't an upgrade to my gear. I'm not a terrible player, I know I don't NEED anything in these dungeons I have access to, so I feel no need to need.

Would it make my game easier to get that extra 500 company seals? Sure. However it'll make that player with ilvl 30 gear a heck of a lot happier and benefit him much more than myself. It's not like it's hard to run out and do two FATEs anyways.

The primary reason I click pass is that I have ilevel 100/110 gear for one DoW (BRD) and one DoM (WHM) class, and while I may come back at some point and level the rest of the classes, all the "hard" dungeons only drop loot for ilevel 90 or below. There is not enough inventory space to have a full set of gear for every class. I've been trying to rank up the Crafting and gathering classes just so I can desynth all the gear that once was useful.

The most economical way of playing this game (eg playing it so you spend the least amount of gil) is to rank all the classes you intend to ever play at the same time so you never have more than 6 sets of gear (One Tank, One healer, one Caster (DPS), One DPS melee/range, one crafting set, and one gathering set), as you will find that they all overlap nicely (eg you can craft the gear for one class while at the same level in another) however I'm sure most people just rushed through the storyline as fast as possible so they could gear grind for the Raid content, so they likely don't use crafted gear at all once they hit level 50.
