In order to preserve the rarity of the materials and furnishings, we've implemented a system that will destroy certain housing items when they are removed. However, as we have been receiving an increasing number of comments asking us to ease up on this so that player's can move furnishings and swap patterns out more easily, we will look into whether or not we can do this for rare furniture.

Do you really need to destroy the rare furniture because it is already bound when place its not like it can be resold at that point.

I feel the same way. I'd like to be able to store stuff that is rare on my retainers occasionally. Not like I have to destroy my grandma's heirloom clock in real life just because I decided to buy a bigger place. :P

No, they don't. It's an idiotic policy as the items are bound to you. It's not like you can remove items from your house and go place them in someone else's. You can't. Once they are placed, they are yours.

This does nothing to decrease said value of the item by allowing people to keep the items that they earned. All it does is destroy all the hard work people put in to get the items required to create or earn the items for their houses.

All of the agrees... It just does not make actual sense. Although I like getting a response to questions I would also like it to sound reasonable. Being bound protects its rareity enough. Destroying it is just a slap in the face.

Actually, you CAN give furnishings to other people; you just can't resell them on the Market Board. Furnishings I don't want anymore are placed in the FC chest. Other FC members use these left over items to decorate their personal homes all the time. Trading person to person doesn't work. However, you can also give an FC member "privileges" to remove housing items which places said items in their inventory.

With the current way they have things set up for items that have to be destroyed, as is the topic here, there is no way to remove, trade, sell, etc. these items. Once placed, they are stuck there. The only way to get really around this is to either remove the restriction and start binding all house items like armour and give us a storage for house items.

If you really wanted to sell a piece you could. Invite buyer to FC, give rights to remove items from only 1 of the 3 slots from fc chest, place furniture to be sold in that slot.

Just like if I get bored someday I'm gonna see if a bunch of people will sell me their wedding cakes.

But still, none of that is really harmful to the economy, not like houses get destroyed every day.

Adding to the chorus of voices on this one. There is no reason to punish us for wanting to redecorate or move. I love housing, I love a lot of what SE does with XIV; this particular issue is one of the poorer decisions. Please make them removable?

Please do this. One of the biggest things putting my FC off from moving from out Cottage to Medium House is the fact we would lose so many furnishings and have to pay to replace them all
