    I understand why we would lose wallpaper/flooring and stuff from EX primals/final coil. It SUCKS but I understand.

    I don't understand why food items, regular mail boxes, teleport crystals or the crafting centers get destroyed. Food items can already get used up and none of their mats are rare. o_o People may want to have duplicates of food items or switch them around every so often, too, so that would keep them selling. The crafting centers are not that useful. Not many people make them because of that. So rarity via destroying them is pointless, it just makes them even less desirable.

    It seems many items are destroyed on pick up when there really is no point. I fear more and more items will be created this way.

    With the current way they have things set up for items that have to be destroyed, as is the topic here, there is no way to remove, trade, sell, etc. these items.     If you really wanted to sell a piece you could. Invite buyer to FC, give rights to remove items from only 1 of the 3 slots from fc chest, place furniture to be sold in that slot.

    Just like if I get bored someday I'm gonna see if a bunch of people will sell me their wedding cakes.

    But still, none of that is really harmful to the economy, not like houses get destroyed every day.

    I'm pretty sure if they do make a feature that will allow us to store rare furniture, it'll require expensive mats and a 5 star crafter. Instead of simply giving us the option to have more freedom in "our" houses we bought, we are forced to make decisions on whether to place "rare" items or not. Not cuz they are rare, but because they will go kaboom if removed.
    Kinda sucks as no matter where u hide that odin front lawn eye sore, u'll always know its there lurking cuz it knows u don't wanna destroy it XD.

    Why not just make the items in question so they can only go in you inventory or you retainers? This would save a lot of headache for us in the future. I myself destroyed one of these items and I WILL NOT pay for it again unless they lift this idiotic restriction. As a matter of fact if I see an item has this restriction I won't even buy it...

    Edit: for the ones saying once it's been placed you can't change it's position, that is untrue. You can move it around within your house/room just not remove it.

    I don't understand. If you own a house, or FC room, and you place an item down, that should bind the item to you, and that should be enough. If you change FCs, or you go from a small to a medium house, how is moving that item to the new house NOT preserving the rarity of anything? You still only have the one item. Not like picking it up and putting it in your bag duplicates the item. It is still a singular item, being able to keep that item still preserves how rare it is, there are exactly the same number of items in the world as if that item was kept in the same old house and that house owner never moved.

    Maybe you should have said needlessly destroying items is INCREASING the rarity, as not 100% if the items are being re-created.

    And this is partly why I never bought a small house. I did not want to deal with this mess of having to trash things if I ever got a medium.

    The need to destroy an item is not necessary, I do hope they remove that feature.

    Housing shouldn't be about rarity, it should be about plain old fun and enjoyment. The purpose and fun should come from being creative...from building a completely unique home.

    The initial costs of said items is enough of a punishment imo, the limitations of how many of these items we can place is another.

    I would rather them worry less about rarity and more about creativity for players overall.
    Most homes still look exactly the same, same stuff....different room they place it in....that's the extent of creativity

    Not my idea of "fun" (still very happy they have housing at all...not a knock down to SE by any means, just it could be sooooooooo much more, more then most realize ) ^^

    Please remove the destruction of certain housing items.

    Within the last month, myself and 80+ other FC members were all kicked out of an FC by an immature leader without any type of warning. He just logged in and started to kick everyone out one by one. Some people were able to salvage things such as the banked gil, some of the communal housing furnishings, but a large number of us were not logged in, were in instances, or afk at the time of him kicking everyone out one by one.

    Because we were kicked, several of us lost millions of gil worth of items. Some people became so jaded towards housing that they haven't bought a new room after we stopped being refugees and were able to reform an FC fast enough to buy a house plot from one of our members. We shouldn't have to deal with being kicked out -and- losing furnishings to destruction because of asshats.

    I have posted about this so many times. I have been wanting to upgrade my private house for months and I can't because i would lose 20 mil worth of stuff. As has been said here repeatedly there is zero reason to bind the items to plot instead of to the player. I do not understand how the "keep them rare" excuse makes sense in any way. They are rare but we already worked extremely hard to get them, so to keep them rare you make us lose all our hard work? If they bind to player they remain rare, but the player can move if they choose, destroying them to keep them rare makes zero sense.
