It would actually be really cool if the Garlean Empire was actually in the sky and they just ride down from there on airships. I'm kind of surprised FFXI never had a city in the sky (well I guess Jeuno kind of gave that illusion), maybe FFXIV will have one up there eventually.

Actually, Tu`lia/Ru`Aun Gardens is the city in the sky, much like Lumoria/Al`Taieu is the captial city thrust into another dimension and sunk into the ocean (What we can access is the vital parts of it.)It would actually be really cool if the Garlean Empire was actually in the sky and they just ride down from there on airships. I know that, what I meant was a city that is actually full of people and city stores and what not.

Less than 11 mil and dropping at a steady pace, actually. Also factor in the amount of gold seller accounts and second/third accounts of players. Any company can manipulate numbers to look pretty, even if they really aren't that way. Care to try again?
Besides, even if it isn't quite as visible, crafters are pretty integral to WoW, just not in the same sense as they are not needed for repairs.
Enchanters make enchantments for everyone's gear. Miners mine up ores and/or gems for Blacksmiths, Jewelcrafters, Engineers, Enchanters, and later on Alchemists. Jewelcrafters take gems and prospect the ores mined up by the miners and cut the gems for your gear sockets. etc. etc. Tailors/Leathercrafters/Blacksmiths add extra stats to certain gear slots, similar to enchants.
I could go on, but I'm sure you know this seeing as your attitude is that of a "I've been playing WoW since vanilla!" type of person.

@Evangelus
Both are just blogs of pretty dissatisfied Japanese players who happen to have read the Eaorzea Tsuushin Vol.1. It looks like there's actually little "new" information printed in it after all. The long interview with one of the producers also is said to circle around server issues that seem to hamper further evolution of the game. Both players express their concern about whether the game becomes really "worth playing" within 2011.

thanks for the reply =)
