    Because leveling that would be oh so fun. The things OP mentioned are not in any recent MMO because they don't make a good game, or decent money. Look at Wildstar for an example of "hard core" and see how well that worked out.

    They (the rose tinted nostalgic group who think it works today) are the minority as proven by the other MMO attempts (again Wildstar, Darkfall, Archage) that failed. Then they get what they want and it's too hard.

    Most of that stuff doesn't bother me. I have other games for my "hardcore" fix. As was stated, its built like a theme park and that's fine. The only thing I truly miss on that list is Support Classes. I miss my old party structure from back in 11 when Rangers shot arrows and Bards handled the buffs.

    Yeah how the eff are you gonna level a full support class? You buff yourself and autoattack ladybugs to death? Oh no no no no no.

    Shades of grey. Some of these things can be considered "modern" convenience while others are to appeal to the broader audience for more subs. I would like a nice middle ground myself.
