I'm a glamour whore. But, some of the vanilla gear sets look hawt. Any of the full HA sets is just amazing.

Because most of the DRG gearsets are gorgeous, the Ironworks especially. And that's what I have right now.

Says the Miq with a Syrcus Shard on the MB right now. (Saw it when checking prices today.)Why do people think it's expensive to glamour? I mean, it can be (i.e. augmentations and whatnot) but it doesn't have to be. Dungeon drops make great glamours and the prisms are only a few thousand gil apiece on the market board. If you know someone that crafts, get the mats together and ask them to make it for you. ^^
I have yet to find a glamour worth putting a lot of effort in.
Only things I use Galmour for is the accessories so I can use The Emperor's New Accessories to hide the accessories on my character due to baving no hide accessory button in this game.

I'm a mixture of the two:
For most of my characters, I don't really have a NEED for glamour as most of the sets are pretty good on their own(Soldiery Cloth and Monk gear for example) and even other sets that I aim for can still look well done with other gear pieces of the same Ilvl..
But then there's rubbish like Noct Lorica...and then I just go get that fixed with CT Tank gear instead.

The fact that I have a Syrcus Tower on the market board doesn't mean that glamour has to be expensive. o.O
Seriously, the mats can be obtained for a few hundred gil and given to a crafter to assemble. The prisms themselves are usually 2-3k on the market board. A simple run through roulette on the "in need" class gets you more than that.
The gear designed for the sole purpose of glamour are all extremely difficult and expensive to acquire. They either need extremely dedicated crafters to produce or use extremely rare and expensive materials.. For level 1 gear that just looks like pajamas? Really?
Once you do get the item you wish to display to go about it is a very convoluted and again expensive or inventory heavy system to actually apply it.
It's silly to me that casual content keeps getting pushed into complicated systems that only non-casual players can actually participate in for the sole purpose of "giving crafters something to do." It's a running theme in this game and just makes me too lazy to even bother most the time.
If it were made more simple to both apply glamour and acquire the display costume, I would do it all the time. But the way it is now just isn't fun and takes too long.
Some people like showing off what they've actually attained (in terms of their highest tier gear). I am mostly in this crowd, even though it's not like I'm some hardcore raider or anything (2nd coil still kicks the snot out of me)
Personally speaking, I don't bother to glamour something unless it looks terribly mismatched or outright ugly.
Usually I'll wear ugly or non matching gear until I know I'll be wearing a certain set for a long time. In that case, it's for sure I'll be glamouring.
I'm delicious!
