Haven't come across any gear I like so much that I must glamor it. Plus the gear treadmill is annoying me to the point that I just don't care any more.

Why do people think it's expensive to glamour? I mean, it can be (i.e. augmentations and whatnot) but it doesn't have to be. Dungeon drops make great glamours and the prisms are only a few thousand gil apiece on the market board. If you know someone that crafts, get the mats together and ask them to make it for you. ^^

For some people, a "few thousand gil" is expensive :PWhy do people think it's expensive to glamour? I mean, it can be (i.e. augmentations and whatnot) but it doesn't have to be. though if you're a crafter, it basically costs you 200 gil and 2 minutes hitting rocks/killing diremites/toads and you're taken care of.

I glamour a couple of pieces but in my opinion the glamour system is too complex for what it is. Personally I would have preferred that glamour was simplistic and easy to change on a whim but the fact that you have to buy/craft an item just to glamour one thing and then it's stuck that way, unless you buy another item to de-glamour it, regardless of the job you're playing, really draws me away from the whole system. To me they've turned what could have been a simple and fun system into something tedious that costs gil/time.
My wife would like to glamour however she plays Warrior and PLD and what she wants to put on would lock her gear out of PLD. So she doesn't do it.

I was wondering this as well. There's really not a whole lot to spend money on in this game. If I didn't buy glamour things for fun I dunno what I'd spend money on. At least since I've gotten a Fat Cat *_*Why do people think it's expensive to glamour? I mean, it can be (i.e. augmentations and whatnot) but it doesn't have to be. Mostly materia I would say, if you do a relic weapon upgrade or just like crafted gear you can spend quite a few millions on either of them buying the materia. Also, a lot of people just don't have much gil to begin with and put no effort into obtaining it so to them a few thousand gil to change the look of something they'll most likely replace is expensive.

You know that only the APPEARANCE would be locked, right? If the WAR wears the glamoured armor, it looks like the glamour. If the PLD wears it, it looks like the default look.
I love glamouring BUT to acquire the look I want a lot of times I am forced into situations where a statisticly superior piece of gear clashes with the looks of a main job set, but the twist is that same piece of gear that clashes with the main set is also the feature item in another outfit idea. Your options in the current system become acquire duplicate items or carry around a metric sh** ton of dispell/glamour prisms.
Because I can't be arsed to buy glamour prisms when I'll be able to make them myself sooner or later - but I don't have my weaving up to that point yet, so for now it's just my blob of soldiery and poetics.
On the plus side it's really hard to tell when a Lalafel's boots and gloves don't match their robe!
