The heck? Learning to work together with other players is hardly mediocrity, it is improving teamwork. The vote kick button does exist for the reason of kicking players that is wiping the group and harassing others, not to be abused on a tank that is trying to do their best. There is competitive spirit, but it is not about being mean and abusive to other players or a tank like the OP.

You do NOT need to speed run every !@#$% instance or dungeon. Taking things at a more measured pace where people do not wipe is more than good enough, and not mediocrity. I heal a lot of instances, and you want to know who loses aggro? It is the moron speed runner tank that tries to pull everything including their mother, and fails to keep aggro. They run off without a word, sometimes even before protect, ignoring the fact that we lack AOE because you got monk and smn or something like that. You know what I do to these tank? I E4E, regen, medica2, and keep the group alive, pickup whatever aggro, switch to cleric stance, and holy the heck out things, and let the tank die with the last mob while the rest of the group is perfectly fine and then we laugh at the silly tank, and I get to recoup my MP, while the tank takes the walk of shame back. Usually that does the trick for stopping stupid mass pulls.

The tanks do NOT set the pace by any stretch of the imagination, nor does any single player. It is about teamwork and working together and communicating. If these speed running tanks think that they are hot stuff, then keep that aggro, and stay alive using the cooldown rotations, so if the tanks are going to pull big, they better be ready to take big bunch of hits and not die, so everyone else can DPS stuff down fast. Or the tank can do the sensible thing, talk to the group, coordinate and pull smaller, that is not mediocrity and there is no shame in that either.
