50 a day I wish it was that few.. Now they continually send friends requests.
What I dont get is what they think they are accomplishing by spamming so much.. why do they have to spam me 5 in a row? They dont think I saw the first 4?
If they spammed less they may not end up on peoples black list or their accounts deleted as much..
To acquiesce, to the demands of RMT scumbags, equates to acceptance of a cockroach or rat infestation.
Abdication to RMT criminals (known for theft, cybercrime, money laundering, malware, and virus production) is the worst possible option. Getting used to RMT
harassment is unacceptable to reputable subscribers.
square you should just sell gill so these bots would go out of bussiness and stop lol
While RMT are annoying, I'm even more annoyed by people who actually buy gil.
The other day I was spammed with RMT that was selling gil for 700$
Seriously? Who the f**k spends 700$ on gil? If you have that much extra cash go do something more worthwhile with it.
There is a special place in Hell for RMT and people who use their services.
I understand SE is doing what they can but it's gross that players are being forced to turn off /tells in order to avoid being spammed. Which means it's probably only a matter of time before the damned RMT start /shout ads again. _-_;;
Edit: I'll just put this out here. SE, I am willing to work for free, daily at that, to put ban as many RMT as possible. My method is to ban first and ask questions later. (I'm sure there are many players who would do this for you.)
Honestly, all the STF needs to do is log in and wait to be spammed then just whip out the ban hammer. Also, the armies of blm bots should be finally dealt with....
Although, I agree that finding gil buyers is trickier and would take more time to locate but we gotta start somewhere.
Also, I do want to point out that as bleak as it seems now since so many of us are being spammed nonstop SE's measures are having an effect. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak, as in the stupidly high prices the RMT are asking for. I remember at launch when they were selling gil for 5$ and now it's over 100$.

Hitting the accounts that buy the gil is probably the most efficient method of dealing with the whole RMT problem.
We know they already track the flow of gil. The Census report shows us that. STF is going after the big time bots/rmt and ignoring the small ones tied to a "legit" account.
On my server there's a particular mass botter that likes to stamp his main char's name on the retainer followed by a taunt/troll phrase like <name>suckit <name>ownered <name>betterthanyou mind you there are over 24 retainers with names like this all with the same character name prefix.
Said retainers are always selling massive amounts of Tier II - Tier IV materias.
The char in question is a very disruptive player in /sh when it comes to Hunts and Fates, which leaves in my mind no doubt its the actual player taunting the server population as a whole. It's pretty easy to narrow down the bot characters producing these materias as we see them running around 24/7, with erratic, non-human behavior, killing mobs while wearing crafting/gathering gear.
I'm sure they can prove the accounts are tied together via the internet network, method and location from where payment of the accounts are made.
I don't know what the deal is, but our server, Midgardsormr, seems to be the absolute worst by far when it comes to this stuff. I also really wish I had taken screenshots of the OVER FIFTY BLACK MAGES on search named Gjhjia Zcnzcbv with no grand company or free company. Lately I've also noticed a LOT of bots underground, attacking stuff and teleporting around.
