Short version: We're doing a thing. While there are no concrete details pertaining to inventory management at this time, the development team is constantly monitoring the amount of inventory space in comparison with the amount of items added in each update. The dev. team continues looking for ways to increase the amount of items players can store through various methods, including increasing the maximum number of retainers a player can hire.

Actually, it's more like "we're thinking about doing a thing if we feel you actually need to store more stuff."
What I really want to see is an "Equipment Guide" similar to the Fish Guide where, when you acquire an item from dungeon loot, the item appears in the guide, and then you can cast glamours from the guide (still consuming glamour prisms of course) without needing the actual item. This should consume even less space than expanding the armoire (if that's even possible), since the actual item would not be retrievable in any way. That would be really neat and solve all my space concern issues.
Personally, I had one retainer with nothing on them except 170+ untradeable equipment items for glamour in case I ever wanted one for an outfit. Re-farming a specific dungeon for a specific drop is annoying, and I can't get a list of items I do not have to use the "Try On" feature with if the item is untradeable (tradeable items can be tried-on via searches on the Market Board). I recently had to go through and remove items I'm unlikely to use for glamour, or that were principally reskins of an item that there was a dyeable version of, but if I find out later that I wanted one for a look, I'll be pretty sad.
(The links below are sadly outdated. I hope to get around to updating things at some point.)

That I'd love to see. Either where all gear we get is recorded and we use a glamour prism to apply the look to other gear, or where we use a glamour prism to store the image in that guide and can then freely apply its images to gear whenever we want. (The former gives us a wider range of looks to use, whereas the later enables people to freely swap around between different looks they like to suit their current mood/job/activity. But either would get all the excess gear we're keeping just for glamours out of our inventory space.)What I really want to see is an "Equipment Guide" similar to the Fish Guide where, when you acquire an item from dungeon loot, the item appears in the guide, and then you can cast glamours from the guide (still consuming glamour prisms of course) without needing the actual item.
