Quoted for emphasis. The UI for Housing right now is incredibly bad. I'm fighting just to highlight objects to move it or rotate it. And I'm constrained by the small spaces of a small house.
I know you love WoW SE... but please, please play Rift and copy what they have done. It is the definition of flawless housing
wow... so i finally got to sit down and check out some vids and pics of rift's housing...
Most of it is impossible because of the very nature of our housing but holy sheet! the amount of customization is ridiculous. You can literally build anything like in minecraft, the tree houses and gardens are so amaze. At the very least SE should sit down and brain storm some ideas from this stuff.
"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
Here is my list of features I'd like to see:
1. The ability to share your home and house functions (aetheryte, garden, house decoration etc) with eternal bonded spouse or friend.
2. The ability to turn off the lights to your home
3. The ability to dye interior walls
4. Partitions should be able to look like interior walls
5. The ability to log off inside your home
6. A juke box that allows you to add music to your home
7. Addition of doors that can open and shut
8. Addition of curtains, blinds and drapes
Just wanted to point out that your #6 has been long promised by the devs (and will likely make it in sooner or later) and your #7 is already in game (there's a sliding Asian style wall that opens when you approach and closes after you step away) although I don't know what it's called. Here is my list of features I'd like to see:

Yeah I know they added a sliding door. But I'm talking about more variety of them. Like opening and shutting doors with glade, rivera and oasis thems etc.Just wanted to point out that your #6 has been long promised by the devs (and will likely make it in sooner or later) and your #7 is already in game (there's a sliding Asian style wall that opens when you approach and closes after you step away) although I don't know what it's called.
You know how we can adjust the size of UI elements (120%, 100%, 80%, etc.), can we have that for furniture? So we can toggle the size of something before placing it, great for making some things fit or filling more space with the same stuff. Great for Lalafell too, I'd imagine. It would be an easy way to make furniture for little people without actually having to make any new furniture.
Not going to lie, I mostly just want to ramp a Stuffed Moogle up to as big a scale as possible for lawls, but it would seriously fix the lack of furniture for small characters.

Why you do this SquEnix?

Also can we change the front door to being a zone line? Would be convenient to just have to run into the door to enter rather than selecting and going "Yes I'm sure I want to enter, why else would I walk up to the door?" every. single. time... At the very least make "Yes" the default... Seriously, who the hell walks up to the door of their house and goes "Am I sure I want to enter?"...
Aaaaand I just noticed that the Junkmonger does not sell Clear Prisms. Please fix.

Housing / Furniture Idea:
Room: Jukebox / Music Box

( Images from FFXI: Mooghouse furnitures.)
A working Jukebox that plays any music selected from the game.
(For fun, these could be unlocked by completing dungeons etc)
I'd really like to play the theme music for: "The lost city of Amdapor" in my room.
