    Need levelling/Inv Management Advice

I am currently working on getting all the DOH/DOL classes to lvl 15. I plan to go further with a few of them but this was suggested to me to gain important CDs.

    My questions are:

What is the most efficient way to level these up? I am currently ranking up carpenter and am working through my crafting log and Ixali quests.

Second, my retainers and personal inventory are flowing over, yet because I'm levelling up these classes I'm afraid to sell any crafting material, materia, etc. that I have acquired by playing my main(lvl 50).

    Any advice?

I just started really getting into crafting myself over the past week.

Leves are always good for super quick xp, but I really wouldn't recommend pushing through them prior to lvl 15 unless you're just rolling in allowances. Leveling to 15 can be done fairly easy by just crafting one of each item for completion. But the most effecient way I've found so far is the leves though in terms of speed.

Another big one is just the Ixal dailies, those have proven to be a guaranteed few crafting levels daily for fairly minimal effort, and I really wish I would have been doing them sooner.

Work one at a time until all are at 15. Also you can buy mats from the vendor inside the guild to save money and buy just what you need for a certain recipe.

But am I right to assume that dumping some of my inventory crafting materials would be a waste? It is a pain though always going to a summoning bell if I search and find what I need is in there.

Man just one more retainer would be nice!

I have said that many times but like i said just concentrate on one at a time to save space. If you try to do all at the same time you will get bogged down with inventory items.

I do not believe in hoarding myself. I only keep hard to get items or stuff I use almost everyday...
For crafting allot can be bought from NPC, allot can be bought on the market board for less than they npc for, and allot can be gathered rather easily.
Problem is prices mainly drop in this game over time.. Occasionally SE releases something driving up prices for a while but the prices still they mainly go down.
We are talking crafting supplies though..

For example stuff like coke or peacock ore started out really high in price because you only could get it through tomes. Now they are offered through GC seals, they drop from maps, they drop in dungeons and go for next to nothing. Sell while high buy while low.
Just recently SE nerfed the price of Ehcatl Sealant. On our server it has over halved in a week. Se now gives one extra oak knot per high level quest which was just enough to push the prices way down. Happy I sold the stuff higher before I needed it.

That's just it. I'm too new to the whole crafting thing to know what is "hard to get" and stuff used a lot. This is why it's hard for me to decide what to get rid of.

I have two retainers full of crafting materials, materia, and gear for my future alts. I don't like to hoard either, but if something I'm holding onto will help me progress easier or faster, it's staying.

You're hoarding. Sell it, buy it later when you need it.

You'll learn what's easy to get as you craft. There are tons of things you can buy from vendors. There are others still that are extremely cheap on the MB. Check any items you come across either through drops or through recipes in a database to see if they can be obtained as a cheap vendor item. If not, check the MB to see if they're cheap and plentiful. I really suggest doing this with all items so you learn what's what.

I use xivdb. There's also the database on lodestone, but I find xivdb easier to use. I'm sure there are others.
