Once physical levels are gone, will racial stats start to matter?

in 11 i was a taru and was whm most the time and i had to gear mnd to cure same as an elv whm who used mp gear. there was a galka whm who couldnt cure as high or much as eather but he had more HP to take atks if he got hate or to close to aoe. I liked this balance. plus abilitys that let u use HP as whm to help cure or give mp but those came later or with sch.

In 11 I loved to play as Black Mage but as an Elvaan I sucked and so I was stuck playing as a white mage which is not what I wanted to be but kinda happened. I agree there should be a difference but not so much that you can't play any race. I did pick my race in this game because I like cats and also just in case there was a stat difference I didn't want it to affect my game play.

dwarves are visibly muscular and sturdy in appearance, lalafels are not. That argument does not work for this. Dwarves are like bulldogs, small but completely muscle. lalas are childlike and not strong looking at all. i'd rather take a lala greataxe to the head then a roe one. i dont think the difference in racial stats needs to be so profound that they make races unable to be certain classes, but i think a small edge should be given to each class in some category/s to add flavor to them. This game has a problem with blandness it needs flavor in more areas then one.

Now replace those lalafells with a roegadyn.

He'd be grabbing both of them with each hand and not between his armpits.

Nobody is implying any weakness in lalafells....

But how crazy would it look if a roegadyn couldn't do what they did and even better, just because his sheer size?
