    From the OP's comments, it's very clear that he/she is using poor methods for crafting, thus making the RNG element far far bigger than it should be, this is my point.

    You both have good points. The more you understand the skills and the better your rotation and reactions to fails will improve your chances, No doubt .. But to me RNG just plays a little too much into crafting.
    I think it is because the percentages seem off... Hasty with steady hand II fails way more than 20 percent of the time, at least it does for me. I have talked to others too that feel the percentage feels way higher.
    Its when you get that 3 or 4 hasty touches that fail in a row that makes things frustrating.
