This. There's nothing unique or special about them, it was just an arbitrary decision on the dev's part to have them gender locked. I'm all for more options.

Aren't some of you tired of every character being practically the same?
All players of a certain race and gender have the same poses now. Being able to mix and match makes for more viariety than choosing between only two options. Poses are how I tell lalafells apart in a second if I cant' see their face. That's how much uniqueness there is...

While I don't mind unique poses for classes as all classes wield different weapons, I would very much like it if there was no gender-locking. The "uniqueness" it adds isn't quite enough to justify a lack of options for both genders. The Male WAR pose is great for someone who has the strength and the build to carry an axe on their shoulder one-handed, which just so happens to reflect the strength of someone who is fit to be a warrior. However, for Female WARs, they always use two hands as if they're too physically frail to wield an axe one-handed. That's just silly.

I like the female dragoon pose. I saw this one chick in WoD yesterday and took a screenie because she just looked so badass. xD

It makes me so furious that female WARs have to hold their axes with both hands while males use only one hand. We're just as strong as the guys! It also makes certain armor (anything with prominent shoulder pieces) clip right into our faces when we're in that pose. It's ridiculous.

Did you hear about the new study on dragons published by Ishgardian scholars? It was quite thorough, but peer reviews said it was Biast.

I'm of the camp of "release all poses and emote animations for all races and genders, no exceptions", so I agree that I'd love to see us able to cycle through the /cposes for the genders. While I love the iconic dragoon pose on my male, I do see why female dragoons would want to have it as well. I mean, it's the iconic pose, a bit odd that SE didn't give that to both genders.

And god knows I'd prefer the male PLD /cpose for my female model miqo'te. I hate how the female model has their shield arm up in the air, it just looks awkward and especially so if you have no shield equipped. >_> Just let us all have the same /cpose, or allow us to cycle between the male and female /cpose. SE pls.

I don't get why there is always this demand to get access to everything. Aren't some of you tired of every character being practically the same? The races and genders have practially no identity in this game as it is because they all look and move the same.

I think it's fantastic that male Miqo'te have a different sitting pose than the females and that they have a unique pose to any other race. We need more of this kind of thing in the game, not less. The differences should be compelling enough to different people so that when someone sees something a specific race/gender is doing they think "wow I should use a Fantasia and remake my character to that" rather than "no fair that should be an option for my race/gender too!"
I couldn't disagree with you more. Giving people less options actually leads to less uniqueness.

As far as I'm concerned, variety adds to how unique people are far more than limited racial/gender selections. Someone is unique based on how they are in various factors and that includes how they move, use their hands, their typical way of sitting/standing. Opening up the poses instead of locking them to specific characters would do a lot more for unique characters than having everyone from a specific race/gender picking from some limited amount of poses that might not even express what they want correctly.

That's my opinion anyway, what people choose when they have the choices means a lot more than what people are forced to go with.

I wish I could have the male WHM pose on females. Yes, the female pose is sweet and gentle looking with a cute smile, very nice and all, but that just doesn't suit my character at all.

Not every female healer is a darling little angel, y'know.

Indeed. I don't mind having normal poses with gender lock, (although the option for one effeminate or masculine pose for males and females is preferred does not have to be the same poses available to the other gender) but combat poses should not be because it's a style that you learn, so your pose is determined with training and that which is comfortable...

    This is ridiculous.

I keep waiting for someone to complain because breasts are gender locked. >.>
