I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
having a debate on a much used term "bitchfest" is beyond rediculous.
You guys need to watch chelsea lately.... she is popular and says bitch/bitchfest every 20 min. (on a good night 5-10 min)
It is just a phrase and not meant as an insult really.

LOL, Ill join in this *&$* fest just because im "English". =p

Yay we have a "Bitch-fest" about "Bitch-festing".... Wait was to too blunt or not blunt enough?!?

ok im going to take you to school for a second and give you the meaning of the word BITCH.But direct does not equal swearing. To illustrate further, it's a known psychological method of winning people over. You phrase things in a *positive* light, because being negative, making an attack, immediately causes people to close up or resist, no matter how valid your point might be. If you are really trying to make a change for the better, if that's your true goal and not just to bash people you disagree with, then you should aim to be positive.
Telling someone to "quit their bitching" is roughly tantamount to "shut the hell up" or even in a polite fashion, "keep your opinions to yourself." If we truly want to make the community better, we need to be aware of the kind of language we're using, and use language to win people over, not incite flames.
1. bitch = she is annoying , degradeing , demanding , or unfair
Used in a sentance " Man that woman is such a bitch"
2. bitch = She is your friend , she is your helper possitive or negitive
Used in a sentance " You is my bitch" ( friendly) You is my bitch!" (not so friendly more of ownership)
3. bitching = over excessive complaing ( such as the people bitching about the word bitch or the FFXIV is bad why do u play)
constant degradeing.
Used in a sentance " Why are people bitching about the word bitch"
4 Bitch = a female dog ( true meaning of the word)
Used in a sentance "my Bitch is in heat"
5. Bitchin' = Something that is way awesome
Used in a sentance " DAMN that was BITCHIN'!
So needless to say you can stop BITCHING about the use of a word. all this PC bullcrap is so damn annoying people now a days are made of glass just one word will fracture them. Get real life isent sun shine and lolly pops!
Anyways why not comment of the topic at hand rather then a word. The topic at had was i found a really intresting piece of info on the japanes fourms. And of corse our MODs here havent done anything to speak about it. Let alone has anyone from the lead NA / EU team done anything to comment on anything. Yet the producer can comment of the japanese fourms .Where if you take the time to transulate you will notice thay ( the japanese people ) not only offer ideas for fixing the game , but also dont bash every aspect of the game . like the posters here do. That was the point. Mostly because the people posting are BITCHING ( see #3) about everything. And not offering solutions. ITs i WANT this or i DONT want that. its not lets fix this then maybe add that.

Now as for what everyone is up in arms about is that it's usually better and socially acceptable to not use vulgar language to get your point across. Just because you hear in on Howard Stern or Prime Time TV doesn't make it right. After all I bet you never told your mother to "Quit her bitching" when she told you to clean your room or do something that you didn't want to do, nor would you tell your boss the same thing if they told you your work was sub-par.
If you want to use such language with your friends and in you LS thats fine but here or in any public forum is hardly the right place.

Accualy i tell my mom to quit bitching everyday. As for my boss were on a friendly base so i can accualy tell him to go F him self and i will still have a job. ( notice i dident say F***) Because Bitch isent a cuss word now a days. But still if you read the meanings of the words you are saying the same things im saying. Only difference is i dident need to quote a dictonary to do so. But again now tell me how is this on topic? because it is not. Thats the other problem here people cant stay on topic , rather go off topic on some tangent about something that isent relevent to the subject matter at hand.If you dont like a word then why take the time to comment on it? What are you gaining? if you want to make a h thread about the word bitch then do so. other wise stay on topic and comment about that topic. If you have trouble knowing what the topic is then dont comment.

I've been saying this since before XIV's alpha.
One Japanese opinion = 5 foreigner opinion.

Here's the deal, my dude. Through the direct use of your language, your original point was obscured, and your topic derailed. This can't be denied: we have three pages of debate unrelated to the original topic because you decided to tell people to quit their "bitching" and shut the hell up if they disagree.Accualy i tell my mom to quit bitching everyday. You can continue to defend yourself, or you can man up, saying, "Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone," and we can all move on. You're hurting *your own cause* by overshadowing your point with unprofessional, negative and insulting language.
With that said, I'm done here. You learn from this experience and use it to better your life, or if swearing and being rude is so important to you, you can continue to shoot yourself in the foot by offending the people you're trying to win over. Hopefully you take this opportunity to grow as a person, if only to facilitate your own success, but the choice is yours alone.
