Unfortunately there were a lot of complaints in the other direction about having to click or tab up every time you wanted to use the skills on the pet hotbar, so I guess that prompted the change. I wouldn't expect a change before 2.51 or 2.55

I wish the dev team would remember when adding these QoL options is that the should be OPTIONAL.
I dont want them to remove it, just make it optional so if you use the pet hotbar it doesnt do this
As a temporary fix to this; you can make a macro that changes the hotbar back to 1 after mounting.
Okay... the obvious question is why you took the effort of moving every single skill off hotbar 1 just to replace it with mounts when there are static all-job hotbars which are designed for the job. After all, by default all of your skills are placed on hotbar 1 as you level up so at some point you made the conscious effort to replace them, as opposed to simply having a dedicated hotbar.
For me, I use the higher tier hotbars for stuff like that so this change is a serious benefit rather than a detriment. Having to click to use cannons, for example, in Stone Vigil was a pain in the backside. Now it's so much easier and faster to use skills.
Honestly, this impacts so little it makes me curious why it bothers you so much. Not like you can use 90% of any of those things whilst using a mount or a cannon anyway, and the few you CAN use aren't terribly important. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to make it optional, but it's really very minor.
you obviously read nothing but the first post if you don't see the point. unlike the people who wanted this I actually use the keyboard/mouse pet hotbar so when this happens I end up with 2 bars with the same stuff on them even if I'm not on a pet job. this should have been something optional from the start.Okay... the obvious question is why you took the effort of moving every single skill off hotbar 1 just to replace it with mounts when there are static all-job hotbars which are designed for the job. something like the below would have been a much better option even if they had it on by default if you had the pet hotbar off
this screws me up almost as bad as the pet cross hotbar did which is why I disabled it and have my game set to keyboard/mouse with all 10 hotbars showing and the pet hotbar as well, and he cross hotbar enabled.
yeah I probably would have had a great deal of issued on the PS3 version

It was an unwelcome change, and I hope they revert it or at least add an option to go back to the pre-2.5 method.
Stop using your main hotbar as a funsie fun time mount and minion bar.
As part of a quality of life improvement in Patch 2.5 we made it so when interacting with objects that feature actions (such as the cannons found inside Castrum Meridianum) the abilities would automatically appear on your hotbar/cross hotbar, instead of being displayed exclusively on the pet hotbar.
However, as you pointed out, we have confirmed that this change is happening to field mounts as well. We are planning to address this issue and we will update you as soon as we hear more!
From another thread.
They know it's an issue, but since it's QoL more than anything else, expect it to be low on the priority list til the next major release.
Also, 10 hotbars? What are you using 10 hotbars for? I play multiple classes, multiple crafters, multiple gatherers, raid final coil, etc. and I only use 3. the most I've seen is four or five tops, and that's mostly for tanks and people with a ton of raid macros.this screws me up almost as bad as the pet cross hotbar did which is why I disabled it and have my game set to keyboard/mouse with all 10 hotbars showing and the pet hotbar as well, and he cross hotbar enabled.

Why do you use that many hotbars? And why is your non-combat stuff on the primary hotbar? You do realize you're actually setting yourself up for situations like this precisely because the game focuses on that bar, right?

Wait a second....I haven't been on my SMN or SCH since the patch. If I am understanding correctly, when I summon my lil ones, my Hotbar1 will be replaced with the pet hotbar? If so, DA FUQ?
I use that hotbar for, you know, skills and stuff. I have pet actions macro'd to different slots, because I micro them most of the time. If this is the case, that will not be good. I am going to have to check this out tonight for sure.
Please say it ain't so and it pertains to mounts only.....and if it is, DEVS --- MAKE IT OPTIONAL
