Good, glad to hear it. Parsers in game are nothing but trouble.....Yoshi P himself said this would never be in the game as it would seem like SE is justifying chastising someone based on numbers. I'm all for parsers in game, but when the man says it'll never happen, it's never going to happen. He didn't even leave it open ended for a future possibility.
That information was only half true. They said it wouldn't be out of the question to make it possible to see your own DPS on a striking dummy. I think it's more likely than not, that they do that. It's the natural progression of this game, and others, to make it as simple as possible to teach players how to play effectively.
Each role has difficulties to overcome, and while it has some of the least responsibility, DPS is the only one with such a lack of resources for becoming better, or monitoring activity/efficiency. It's okay to want to keep your players safe from criticisms, but people will be people, so it's inevitable that harassment will happen. The lesser of two evils, would be helping the players who do want it, so that you're at least helping one crowd instead of allowing both scenarios to plague the playerbase.

how about a more viable battle log? the battle log is worthless right now. All the information is there, just for the love of god add some parameters to display it into slightly digestible information!
Oh I know right? If they make them readily available to the playerbase, then people will more easily see me underperforming and want to remove me. The more people that parse, the harder it gets to hide the fact that I'm bad. How will I get content done if I can't try to slip through the cracks and score a free carry? As it is now, they'll just have to guess and focus more attention on me. If they could parse, there would be numerical proof that I'm bad. My $15 > the groups $45/105/345, and as such they shouldn't be able to make things easier for them to succeed if it comes at my expense.
Perhaps some sort of device that takes all of the information in the combat log, and displays it in an easily readable format.
Although if you were aiming to be really good in your DPS, I'd find it hard to believe you can do so without the assistance of a parser. So I guess anyone who's trying to be the best of their class in DPS, it would be mandatory which is probably factually true.
I'd say anyone who's aiming to be good at their DD job has at least checked someone who uses parser how their DPS is. Otherwise they would have no idea.
Which is bull**** of the worst sort. First thing they implemented with PF was the ability to restrict by ilvl, which is even worse discrimination.Yoshi P himself said this would never be in the game as it would seem like SE is justifying chastising someone based on numbers. I'm all for parsers in game, but when the man says it'll never happen, it's never going to happen. He didn't even leave it open ended for a future possibility.
