You want it, but clearly not enough that your willing to go against the odds for it.
Go against what odds? The RNG odds? yeaah the fact that some people it took 3 runs to get it while there is a chance of me doing 30 runs is something that excites the crap out of me. The fairness is overwhelming in terms of players.

RNG I can cope with to a certain extent. I might just need a break from it because I aint so keen on wasting my time on odds.

But yeah thanks for pointing out my problems with odds, I'll go see a Dr about it.

Every time I get frustrated with some unlucky randomness. I have to sit back and think, what content is this preventing me from doing? Then I realize... Nothing. If I was pushing through final coil I'd have access to other upgrades to ensure I have the gear to continue. And since I'm not... The only thing it is holding me back from is finishing the quest NOW! It is the design of the quest, it isn't for everyone. If it isn't something you like don't do it... You don't need it for experiencing any other aspect of the game and it is very satisfactory for some people as they enjoy the random grindiness.

If they made this one less random then they would add something else for that player base and some would be complaining about that. I used to complain about the randomness, but I changed my perspective on it. Especially after talking to some who really enjoy the design of this quest. It isn't perfect and I personally would have liked something that fits my playstyle better but... Well after so many expansions on this questline, I've realized I'm not the target audience.

The whole Relic/Zodiac line is no mere "quests" they're "epics."

Were talking bilbo baggins walking out of the shire, he had no clue what he was in for, but he knew it would change his life forever.

The Relic/Zodiac line from start to finish is a lot like that. Once you get through it you get this ridiculous satisfaction that often warrants an irl celebration of some sort whether small or grand.

Personally i have 3 Zodiac weapons, with a 4th inprogress, all 4 with max Det, take a wild guess how much time i spent earning gil AND materia converting, i have no clue either but i made new friends and reacquainted with some old ones along the way.

When i was doing the Novus to Nexus portion of my NIN Weapon, i ran into someone i hadn't seen since 1.0. It was in Syrcus Tower, guy was like "<Laedrian Kiang>? i dont know a <Laedrian Kiang>, but i know a <Kaedrian Liang>." Then it went on from there.

Stop treating them like quests, they're not. It's going to be an adventure depending on how social you are. I'd write more but, lolcharlimit/postlimit.

I should of made a thread, I did lost city 45 times. IDK why I didn't. I'd do it again if I have that bad rng again. Working on second now, despite that bad run on lost city. Also did 12 AV, and most of those groups were slow new players wanting exp, and wiping alot. I got upset, but got past it and felt like I achieved something.

Hahaha.. OP complaining after running an dungeon 4 times? Wow.. lol.

Dude, you only ran it 4 times and you act like it's the end of the world. If you can't handle a little RNG then you should probably quit now, at least from doing anything raid and relic related.

Zodiac quest isn't even that bad, at least it sure wasn't for me. The most I had to run a dungeon was 8 times on two specific dungeons. Had quite a few 1/1 and 1/2's as well.

I enjoyed this. Infact, the only part that was bothersome, was building up the Soldiery and GC seals (but even that wasn't really difficult).

Not to mention it's actually quite beneficial to people who are leveling up to have geared lvl 50s helping them level up in those pre 50 dungeons. This was a good move by SE.

Blame the people who cried about relic 2.0 being too hard. Rng is a way to make it accessible to everyone

In RNG, you don't cope with it to a certain degree. In my near 20 years of MMO experience, you grind it until you win. If you don't have that mindset, never attempt to cope with RNG cause you'll find yourself exactly where you are now. Frustrated.

Luckily this MMO provides options outside the relic weapon.

Currenytly working on my 2nd zodiac, so farming lights and doing the dungeons at the same time. Tbh the latest quest is the best one since zenith.
I think maybe you are playing the wrong game if you don't like RNG.

I am light farming, spiritbinding, getting soldiery and might have a chance of a drop I need for next upgrade, I think it's perfect
