Why is the World of Darkness on a weekly lockout?

The next major update is the expansion. 2.51 is the golden saucer. No content there. 2.55 is the final part of the 2.0 story and the lead up to the expansion. Probably an hours worth of content there.

You wholly underestimate the demand there was for Triple Triad and chocobo racing. And you also forget that the Zodiac weapons are getting an upgrade come 2.55 or possibly sooner and there's probably other stuff we don't know yet. There's no such thing as a "no content patch" unless it's just a bunch of bug fixes.

Can't see a problem if the loot lockout is removed with 2.55 which will be like a month before teh expansion and it becomes dead content (pretty much). Also, Im putting my Gil on xpansion coming in Japans golden week XD \So end of April, beginning of May, which puts it in their advertised spring release.

I'm not really. Anything in the golden saucer isnt content. It's fluff, filler. The relic upgrade quest is not content. It's busy work.

Just because you deem it filler because it's not worth your time doesn't make them non content. If anything new is added, that's content. Arguing against that is just for the sake of schematics.

buy 120 poetic gear for the main and get 120 gear from WoD for alts. At 2.15 or 2.55 get the upgrade items for the poetic gear also from WoD (or CT weekly quest) and get more WoD gear for more alts.

The problem is not that the CT rewards are too restricted, it's that the hunt rewards are too high. Adding twine to the hunt was a bad decision.

Adding twine was fine, IMO, but I feel it should have the lock set in place as well to only let you buy one per weekly reset

You get ONE Need a Week for your class and then can greed the rest of the week without penalty.
