Just something to keep in mind.
Yeah, that is a fair point. SE's fix to NIN's TP consumption kinda messed things up a bit. SP -> BB would work in a situation where you're seeing a higher DPS gain for NIN to apply DE than for the WAR to apply SE (would also result in higher WAR DPS I thiiiink?). That obviously greatly depends on the length of the fight, how long the BRD needs to play Paeon, how long the NIN will remain bottomed out, etc. It's a very tricky situation, and tbh I usually see NINs decide to apply DE regardless just to save themselves TP. Would actually love to see if anyone's crunched the numbers/done testing on this as it would be very useful to know.

With really quick testing of using the total combo damage dealt (no auto-attacks included):

a total of 1498 (1872)* damage with SE -> SP combo (SE active when combo performed) no crits.
a total of 1525 (1906)* damage with SE -> BB combo (SE active when combo performed) no crits.
a total of 1493 (1866)* damage with SP -> BB combo (SE active when combo performed) no crits.
a total of 1528 (1910)* damage with BB -> BB combo (SE active when combo performed) no crits.
Maim and Defiance was up on all of the combos.
*I calculated the Defiance's -25% damage off of the total damage so it might be a little off of what I would had gotten if I had made the test with defiance off, but since it's really late this shall be for now
a total of 3098 damage with DE -> AE combo (DE active when combo performed) no crits.
a total of 3271 damage with AE -> AE combo (DE active when combo performed) no crits.
Venom was up on both of the combos. The differences are surprisingly minimal on tank's rotations, but on ninjas on the other hand nearly 200 damage per 10TP used more.
It takes 10 seconds to do the ninja's combo, with 3271 dmg in 10 seconds it's 327,1 dps, times that with 600 seconds (10min) = 196260 total damage
with 3098 the overall damage over 10minutes would be 185880 total damage
the difference is 10380 overall damage, assuming we've got a bard singing /other ninja goading us so we can use the combo uninterrupted.
Also note that I've not included any DoT/Ninjutsu there, just pure combo comprasion.

I didn't include the similiar maths done for warrior, but there's only about 1000 damage difference over the same period of fight on tank stance. (Takes 13 seconds to go through the combos, either SE -> SP or SE -> BB or SP -> BB or BB -> BB)
on warrior's damage with Defiance on there is little to no difference wether you use which combo, dps wise, while without Defiance, it's starting to be a bit bigger, but still arguably unexistant due to critical hits being random.

Note: I normally leave all the maths for the people who does theorycrafting, so I might be off with something, or I might be doing something completely wrong, so don't base any assumptions around this, unless other proof/maths have been done to verify it.

People need to remember that a healer's job isn't to heal HP
