I'm not gonna get into the "hildebrand should cease to exist argument" but.. you think the game has an ongoing 200+ man team(of developers)? lols

Actually more about 30 devs top I'd say. Then an army of testers, translators and stuff. but not that many devs
+1, I always find myself sleeping through most of the quest just to unlock the roulettes D:

Yeah I'm going to have to say no to getting rid of Hildy. It's a great change of pace from the generally serious stories of the Main Scenario and the Crystal Tower story lines. Love both of them but some times I just want to do something that will make me grin or laugh and Hildy does that for me. It's not meant to be taken seriously and so I don't go into it with that sort of mind set and end up having a lot of fun with it.
As many before me have stated: Hildibrand is Love, Hildibrand is Life!

I think it should be noted that the Hildy questline is ridiculously easy to make in comparison to a whole new raid encounter designed to challenge a static group on voice chat.

No way. MOAR HILDIBRAND!

I love Hildibrand. I enjoy the crazy slapstick and characters. I like the way old references are written into it. I like the way this arc concludes. And I would be very happy to have more.
But I do actually know what the detractors are saying. They like having more content, just something else. It's also understandably frustrating that many trials are locked into the different Hildibrand questline.
My suggestion would be to give us another side series of characters with the release of Heavensward. Hildibrand's stories in 2.0 are focused in Ul'dah and Thanalan mostly, perhaps the exploits of a grounded pirate crew in Limsa? A hearer, perhaps a Pad'jal in Gridania dealing with the Elementals and Beastribes?? Domans adjusting to Eorzea??? And who knows what Ishgard could bring!
We have PLENTY of options and I LOVE the idea of endgame side-stories for the more casual end of the player base.

Lets not forget the fact that Godbert often mentions his wife, Hildibrand's mother, whom you meet at the tail end of the whole scenario. I think being married to a woman for years, birthing and jointly raising a child, still being married long after, and being pretty content in said marriage with a woman equals not gay. Bi is certainly an option, but not gay.You know - I didn't get any vibes at all from Godbert when I went through the storyline. There's some characters definitely that are hinting at it - that elezen female out in one of the gridania starter areas comes to mind - but Godbert? Nah. He's just a weird dude and it's awkward to rub oil on him no matter WHO you are. It didn't make it less awkward just because I\my character sport a v. It was meant to be weird, not necessarily homosexual. It's highly amusing, however, how much gayness straight folks read into things...
Still further adding to the point, after this patch, with the Wanderer's Palace hard mode quest, SE has no problem putting the VERY OBVIOUSLY NO QUESTIONS NEEDED TO ASK THIS IS A GAY COUPLE right smack there for us to interact with. Shit, they even mention that they left home not because they are a gay couple, but because they are also an interracial couple.
So thinking Godbert is gay is, canonnically speaking, way off the mark.
