Now that some time has passed

Does it still feel like pug has been beat in the face with the nerf bat to you? For me yes, a MP cost on basic attacks, relatively huge timers for a small buff (light strike) and a slow feeling auto attack.

I really enjoyed being a DD tank and for all that was taken away anything that could have made us a slightly better tank then what was was wasn't touched. Would have been nice to have a inherent evade boost and a shorter feather foot cool down or two "shadows" if you will.

Anyway, I'm not really interested in spewing my own opinion so much as listening to what other people think, want, wanted, and your general view of have we been nerfed or not.

Sometimes listening to others opinions teaches you a whole hell of a lot.

Well, I've only been playing PGL to tank in the new dungeons, but I wouldn't say we've been nerfed. Light Strike buff is stronger to make up for the reduced uptime. TP gain seems a *little* slower, but that could just be perception. Only time I've ever ran into MP issues is when I decided to put some THM stuff on my bar while tanking. Any survivability issues I have stem from not having other jobs ranked high enough for certain buffs (work in progres, yay!). . .

Anyway, yeah, I'd say we're still doing fine.

I only play Pug as a DD and very little as tank, but what I really do not understand is the MP issues.
Really now the MP cost (although not justified) on light strike is downright almost non noticeable...

It is considerably more noticeable when you are tanking if you have to heal yourself at any length. What it does basically is make pummel hard to justify using. I have quite a bit of MP for a pugilist, but in a long fight I'll run low if I am using both and curing myself at all.

As for the topic I don't think we were nerfed, I think balance wise in comparison to other melee in both DD and tanking we fare better after the patch than before.

I'll agree with that, but at the same time, I rarely wind up healing myself as tank with actual cures. Second Wind, Accomplice, and front-loading aggro abilities means my healers can get to healing sooner. As for healing yourself as DD, well, sheathing your weapon solves everything.

the class is less fun, and has less range of playsing style.

I think the auto attack system really helped the pugilist, It allows you more time to notice evade to use your moves, this class is actually fairly fun if you pay attention. The basics are using featherfoot, haymaker and concussive blow, dont forget your second wind. and of course aura pulse for multiple enemies. i recomend keeping light strike pummel and flurry on the father end of your bar as they have long recasts. the pugilist does great damage, it has the fastest auto attack with this new system and does two attacks making it have a TP advantage. I feel super buffed as now i can actually take on alot more as a pugilist. Just my opinion of course but it seems these updates took a hard to play based on counter class, and made it so you can focus on reacting and countering.

My PGL is only rank 20, but the bulk of that has been done since they implemented Auto-Attack... Unfortunately, if you are of the opinion that PGL was nerfed in that update I only foresee further nerfs... As right now PGL weapons have the same delay as GLA weapons, yet hit twice per turn, meaning that they do more damage and garner more tp per attack round.

I see them nerfing them further to compensate before they repeal any of the changes inherent in the Auto-Attack update.

I could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if they increase the delay on PGL weapons...

There are certain situations where tanks need to heal themselves, but for the most part you are right. It certainly doesn't make the class broken, or any less useful. With the new faster recast on Second Wind we definitely came out ahead in that bargain as well.
