Id like a variety of options purely for the glamour if anything, I vote for selfishly having a Monk questline involving world fighting tournaments and cliche training montages, mixed with a splash of drama. also, combining primal weapons into a super weapon should be a thing, lots of fun weapons and goals, thats what i want to see.

The only way Relics should be the best is if there is an optional path that requires the highest raid either be cleared or the like item be obtained:

i135Excalibur+i135DW Blade = i135 Weapon with +20 to all secondaries. (DMG and Main stats stay the same)

The relic grind is real but the highest gear is locked behind Raids to keep people Raiding.

Sir Taint has it. Asking for relics to be best weapons is akin to asking them to be locked behind difficult raid content

Is it just me or did a lot of the comments ignore the fact that the TS stated: "I think that an easy solution would be to make possible to get items to upgrade relics in two ways. Playing endgame(coil or whatever) and/or grinding. So hardcore people can get their relic upgrade earlier than casual ppl. Grinding method should have week cap so its not possible to get relic upgrade on the firsts weeks of the patch."

Just me? Am I imagining things?

Casual in difficulty, as it has zero, sure. But go on and try to do it on casual time allowance, see how fast you finish - it's not difficult, it's not interesting, it's not fun either. So yeah, while technically giving a long term goal to work for (why this again, though, this is a game, we shouldn't be forced to work), if you're doing this on a casual time budget, it takes up all your time for too long to just finish one. And doing boring, frustrating things for too long will not make anyone want to continue to p(l)ay.

I think for future content after expansion I think they should do is introduce (seal's) which you purchase with poetic and then can trade at a particular dungeon/Raids entrances. This system it would increase the ilvl requirement's with a premade party before entering which could then drop job specific new ilvl gear/accessory. Then end game raids would get purple gear items that is BiS and the non-raid areas would get Blue tier gear not the BiS but still good enough for an entry point for starting it at least.

I also think also a new version of the materia system could be implemented to were with this you could introduce ability enhancements for job like cure potency +5 etc. and SE will be able to keep their precious balance with difficulty without levelsync a dungeon when people themselves will increase it to get that precious upgrade. Allot more depth will be required for something like this but just a summary.

We already have people complaining about how grind-intensive the relic quest chain is like. Adding a method to obtain it outside of the time-consuming grind such as raid drops will only be adding fuel to fire. Locking it on a weekly basis will also make people just as mad since everyone wants everything, "now now now!" The common argument so far is, "Try doing the relic questline on a casual's time allotment."
My bad. I stopped reading when the flame wars began.

I have one zodiac (Apocalypse) and I am working on another (almost Curtana Nexus now). I work on them during weekends and after work hours. I do agree that it is very time consuming and isn't really as "casual-friendly" as people think. The only reason I am able to get updated relics is because I invest time in doing them before every new patch hits so that I won't fall too far behind. I have run Aurum Vale so many times that I have memorized it, and yet no quest item drop. Not complaining, this is the path that I chose, just pointing out that really it's not as "casual" as some may think.

I rather not cuz se will see it as an ok lets make it involve desynth and lots of gil.
I.e desynth raid wep for a super 0.01% drop that u need to then give to an npc so they can craft the ultimate wep.

OK, edited thread with some info to open mind to some people:

    One example:

New endgame patch has 4 turns.
You need to farm 30 Looking Forward Notes(LFN)
If you complete turn 3 then you get X LFN.
If you complete turn 4 then you get 2X LFN.
If you grind it doing IDK quest then you get Y per week.

People that just raid can get their relic faster than grinding, if you do raid+grind then you will be the very first because you are a hardcore machine. Grinding ppl eventually will get it without get burned. ALL HAPPY!

And if last turn drop weapons(same ilvl as relic but less powerfull because it has not special/unique buffs) they can equip their alters while they farm their first, second, third,.... all relics they want faster than everyone, because hardcores own eorzea with their epeen power OMFG

Time between fastest way possible and grind method is what we should discuss. I have no problem with raid ppl getting their epeen weapon some weeks or 1+ month before others.
