You can craft stuff to turn in to seals. I think that was the aim of how you can do it solely through crafting.
The Ixal Deliverance daily quest now awards a moonstone.

Has anyone considered that the missing CP on the apron might be a bug? At least according to the patterns I recall. When comparing the 4 star artisan crafts with the AF sets:
Hands:
AF nq: 2 cp / 27 control
AF hq: 3 cp / 31 control
Art nq: 2 cp / 29 control
Art hq: 3 cp / 33 control
Shoes:
AF nq: 3 craft / 27 control
AF hq: 3 craft / 31 control
Art nq: 3 craft / 29 control
Art hq: 3 craft / 33 control
Pants:
AF nq: 3 craft / 27 control
AF hq: 3 craft /31 control
Art nq: 3 craft / 29 control
Art hq: 3 craft / 33 control
Chest:
AF nq: 2 cp / 27 control / 81 craft
AF hq: 3 cp / 31 control / 92 craft
Art nq: 0 cp / 29 control / 89 craft
Art hq: 0 cp / 33 control / 101 craft
Theory Art nq: 2 cp / 29 control / X craft (lacking info)
Theory Art hq: 3 cp / 33 control / X + Y craft
CP is missing on purpose. To disallow Full Meld possible on chest. And NQ won't do it. Not possible this time. The gap between NQ and HQ alone in craftsmanship and control is already 3 needed slot in a NQ chest to match with HQ stats.Has anyone considered that the missing CP on the apron might be a bug? If it is a bug however >.> SE...y u do dis?

Bug implies that the why would be something along the lines of "we reviewed it, expected it to be there and saw what we expected instead of what was there".
Generally as I've been looking at things the difference between melding the AF sets and melding the 4 star Artisan pieces has been two parts. A) 3 slots instead of 2 slots making it easier and B) somewhat larger materia. Considering that the inherent craft on the chest looks a little higher than I would guess and it perfectly fits 3 IV craft materia and because this is a "high end" crafting piece.... it just looks like a bug to me.

Im' Just getting into 4star (Finish ed melding MY offhand yesterday xD)
Should I go for the Apron, or the gown? <__<
Crafted artisan is still BiS, right?
Did you see my badge? I'm a professional!
I personally got the gown for now, at least until prices settle down. Craft Comp IV materia shot up to 500k-700k on my server. I'm really in no mood to spend an extra 1.5 million for stats I really do not need immediately. Of course, if you can afford the first day markup, and/or have the materia on hand, the apron does have a better stat cap.
I also got the gown for glamour, for when I get around to getting an apron for myself. It's much cheaper, and looks a lot better than a potato sack.

I melded craftsmanship +18 control +4 Cp +3 on artisan's chest, my stat is 463/413/355 without food
with Lucis 494/427/355 without food
