In their defense, if you facerolled the dungeon your first try with a first-timer party, it's fair to say the dungeon wasn't that difficult at all.

Or your party was awesome and fairly adept at learning mechanics on the fly. Facerolling is not only a function of dungeon difficulty. My friends and I rolled through Pharos the day it came out and thought it was pretty easy too. The legions of people complaining and the people ducking out of the duty proved that our group's performance is not a valid metric to judge a dungeon by.

If ya'll would just pick a dang side.. :/.
People are always going to have specific tastes in how hard or easy mechanics should be. That's especially prevalent in a game where everyone has to play together.
Personally, and as I've said before, I don't care how hard or easy something is as long as it can engage me.

I only ran through Wanderer's Palace HM this morrning before work (I defy any speedrunner to try running through that dungeon with a whole room of enemies in tow) and I can say that all of the bosses have some tricks up their sleeves that can be overcome with some trial & error. Even the fodder enemies gave a fairly tough fight (the wivres in particular). The devs did well with that dungeon and I feel good about trying the other two areas when I get home tonight.

That's the point though, nobody knows what to do on their first run in a brand new dungeon.

What do you judge when everyone's been doing it on a daily basis (many even several times a day) for weeks, so much so that everyone can do it blindfolded in a fracture of the allotted time?

Also, not so much about picking a side, but being consistent. Which, these three new dungeons, are not, in my opinion.
Everyones idea of Easy, Hard, and Middle ground will be different. So, them finding it is like asking them to guess your favorite color...

I do like a reasonable degree of challenge though, so I look forward to seeing what "challenge" there is in these new ones.

Good players do. They see a mechanic, and they figure it out right then and there. "Oh the boss turned transparent. Oh standing in this circle makes me flash light. Maybe I should run to the boss with it?". The way the majority of the things work in the new dungeons can be found out precisely as they happen.

To be honest, for me they where all on the same level.
Only wiped once on first boss of amdapor, because it wasnt obvious from the beginning and the healer was targeted.

That might be true, but isnt that how we should learn to play the game? by trial and error? by trying stuff out? I havent played the new ones yet cause im at work. I cant wait. as long as its fun, Im game. The most difficult aspect of this game is waiting for dungeons.
