I know their was an original plan for 60 days inactive would lose house but a lot of push back saying it wasn't enough time. I would say the compromise would be lose plot but refund the gil amount they actually spent. Yea it sucks you couldn't play the game for a few months because of RL but why should the people who are paying and playing suffer because of it? Needs of the many outweigh needs of the few or needs of the paying customer outweigh the needs of the might return customer.

How do reclaimed plots go on sale again? Just suddenly switch its display to a price? I'm waiting to buy a S plot in Lavender Beds (seems to be the most desired housing zone on our server) but I can't make it a full time venture logging in every hour to check. Is there any way to check if a plot has been inactive for a while or so on? Or do we just have to judge by how long the layouts haven't updated?

At this rate I imagine newly opened up Lavender Beds plots would get snatched up at max price...

If I had to go due to RL situations beyond my control and returned to my house gone (I had literally spent around 4 months saving up for it) I would be so upset.
Would you still be upset if you returned to your house gone, but a voucher in the mail to let you rebuy the same size of house? You would lose nothing, instead other players would be able to make use of the land that you weren't using.

Even if they added enough hardware for everyone to have a house you would still get players complaining that 90% of the wards were dead. I would much rather they maintain a smaller community of ACTIVE players in the housing areas than have every ward mostly fill up then get abandoned, forcing you to live in a ghost town.

The amount of time necessary for this to happen should be set quite high... say maybe 90 days or something? If anyone is gone from the game for more than 90 days there are hundreds of other players in the game that would make better use of that plot...
Why do you care who owns the property that you don't own?
If they are paying their sub fee... What the heck business is it of yours to decide "well, they don't log in enough... Let's take their stuff away."

Might be the most selfish thing I've ever heard here... No wait, nvmnd. I've heard worse on these forums, lol.

From his message, it didn't seem like he was specifically talking about subbed players and more then likely talking about people who've unsubbed. Regardless though, taking one 5 minute moment during a 3 month period to log in, in order to just visit your house, shouldn't be difficult whether you are subbed or not, if you are that focus on keeping your house. To that extent what Alberel said stands true, you can't possibly admit to being wholeheartedly attached to your house if you never visit it.

Kind of. I picked the ward, location, and district to be around certain groups of people (rpers). I would no be too happy if I were moved away from the people I chose to move next to. Also i would then have to wait for a plot to free up somewhere to rebuy the house, and I doubt that SE would give a direct gil refund of the entire house. Even then, I roleplay a lot, it is one of the main reasons I am on the game. If RL circumstances took me away from the game for the period of time that my house would be taken away, I would probably not resub to the game unless their refund system was extremely exceptional.

So you've arbitrarily decided that 5 min every 3 months is enough to justify my houses existence?
It still won't satisfy the OP cause he wants to see me running around town more than that 0_O.
Are we going to implement other social bans too? Am I going to lose my house if I don't talk to my neighbors?

The whole idea that somehow someone no longer deserves their home because they are not pleasing your definition of "active member" is absurd.

doing this would increase the amount of active neighbors in my hood who are actually enthusiastic about housing... i 100% support this.

The OP never mentioned how the plan should go into effect so until that person makes a return showing we won't know how they feel about all the plans being talked about. So far the general consensus is 60-90 days should be enough time for a person to log in to check on their house if they plan to come back to it. Personally I'm more towards giving a person the full 90 days opposed to having them gone quicker then 60 days because I understand RL problems can even get your internet turned off for a while. But no one should be able to retain ownership of a house indefinitely if they never log on or visit their housing sector in that period of time.
