I see from the patch notes that they are staying true to form by forcing some poor bastard to relinquish their weekly look in case they are just unluck. What I refer to is this in the patch notes:
So, if a piece of gear drops that NO one in the party wants, and we all pass on it, the game will still force it onto someone instead of just dissolving it into nothingness, and that player as a result has to now wait a week before they have any hopes of getting a piece of gear that they actually do want."If time expires and a reward item is obtained automatically, this will also count toward the weekly limit."
SE, I hope that someday in the future you will implement that passing is passing, and if you pass on an item you have no chance at all of getting it whatsoever. If no one wants it - let the item rot - don;t force it onto us. I hated that with the first CT, though there was hope in St with the weekly lockout being gone, and now it's back with the same conditions. Twice in CT I had gear forced on me even though i passed - seriously bad luck and I had quit running CT as a result.
The best players can hope for is to cram into WD during the first week while everyone still needs stuff, as this will be their only hope of not having something thrust upon them. however, the DF is random on DPS placement, like last week when I ended up in a party that was nothing but the tanks, healers and ALL of the DPS were BLMs. Guess what dropped? Nothing but DRG gear. That is going to happen here as well.
I think the only security one can have is if they do get a piece, they keep it in their inventory (do NOT put it into retainer) and thus if that item drops again, the game cannot thrust it upon you because the items are unique. At least . . . i hope in WD these new items are unique. that'll be an entirely new can of worms if we can get slapped more than once with gear that has a weekly lockout.
