Everything we are currently doing is actually history we are remembering come 3.0.
This is all in the WoL's head.
The WoL does talk, but we never hear them. So my Hyur sounds exactly as I want in my head.![]()
Mine sounds like Gilbert Gottfried.
Judging by the 2.5 trailer, I think it's fair to say our character finally does snap and has a BSOD - the trailer showed Derplander being speared by a column of fire at the top of the Keeper of the Lake, and Minfilia's comments at the end it seems almost we decide to, give up! So I think things have finally stated taking their toll on our characters (not surprising, if I was faced with the grim reality of monsters being able to brainwash people at will, and a race of immortal black clad mages trying to destroy the world I'd be pretty depressed too!) :P
I think it's the english version that isn't clear, in french Minfilla says :Judging by the 2.5 trailer, I think it's fair to say our character finally does snap and has a BSOD - the trailer showed Derplander being speared by a column of fire at the top of the Keeper of the Lake, and Minfilia's comments at the end it seems almost we decide to, give up! Tant que ta flamme continuera de brûler, la lumière de l'aube pourra être rallumée encore et encore.
As long as your flame still burns, the light of the dawn can ever be relit.
Tu dois t'échapper et sauver cette terre des ténèbres qui la menace.
You must escape and save this land from the darkness that threatens it.
Il n'y a pas d'autres solutions... Sans lui tout espoir est perdu.
There isn't any other solutions... without him all hope is lost.
So while the "you have to go on" from the english version can be interpreted as the warrior of light giving up it's actually meaning that Minfilla is going to stay behind at some point and asks us to escape and go on without her.
Same with thancred, while in English and Japanese he asks for one last dance/date (the later in Japanese)
In the French trailer he says:
La premiere chose à faire, c'est de trouver un moyen de s'échapper du guêpier qu'est devenu Ul'Dah
Which could be translated into
The first thing to do is to find a way out of the hornet's nest that Ul'Dah has become.
So I take it the syndicate, especially teledji adeledji, started to wreck things after our beloved sultana decided to abdicate since we can see that our opponents are brass blades.
Now this is only a wild supposition but, maybe for some reason we'll be made into renegades, forced to escape but where?
Limsa and Gridania are in alliance with Ul'Dah so they cannot shelter us without endangering the alliance, which leaves only one place to go, to ishgard where they don't really care for adventurers, their condition for helping us out will probably be to help in their crusade against the dragons, leading to what we saw in the heavensward CG teaser.
The midlander tired from all this running arrives to the gates of judgment barely able to walk, covered in rags and torn down cloak, only to see the carnage on the bridge that leads to ishgard, being an adventurer it is not much of an issue for him to become a weapon against the dragons in exchange for help, leading to the ending scene where we see him changing into dragoon garb and joining the battle.
Well, my imagination ran wild but it kinda makes sense doesn't it?
