Yeah, If only FFXIV started with Yoshi and the new dev team. I cant help but wonder what it would have been now.
Tough job to work on an existing messy system. Gotta give them credit for trying, i think 1.18 is still too early to judge. Perhaps by 1.20 it will clear up.

He's doing the right thing reworking the system first I'm just wondering if it's possible. Surely adding story, dungeons, content, all this will help but ultimately the game engine is crap. Seems like simple tasks like adding search system, loot pool, party system, etc is a nightmare due to the way system was designed. I think it would just be easier to start over.

Yes, these are my same dreaded thoughts too, the new poorly designed dungeons were kind of proof of that. I'm not sure if it's the game engine or the designers, or both. I can't seem to grasp the issue, but for a game as old as FFXI having much more appealing dungeons and caves and environments even though the graphics excels by far in FFXIV gets me wondering if it's at all possible. With time, i'm getting more inclined to feel starting over would be the easier way out. Though i'd like to believe it can be saved.
