Can anyone pick up the VA of the Dragon at the end of the trailer? Sounds super familiar but can't pick it up.

I'm probably going to get stuff thrown at me for saying this, but I really wish SE would try to make their trailers more appealing to people who aren't already playing FFXIV. That doesn't mean they can't appeal to current players as well, but it would be nice if they had promotional appeal also.
Seriously, almost nothing in that trailer will make sense to anyone who isn't already an active player. Perhaps worse, parts of it will just downright strange or silly to gamers who could potentially be turned into future subscribers.
Bit of history here: As a FFXI fan I eagerly awaited FFXIV's launch. I had an opportunity to play FFXIV during its original beta and couldn't have been more disappointed with how the game turned out, and so I left with no intention of ever looking back.
However, post-relaunch I kept hearing great things about it. And yet, every time I looked at one of SE's FFXIV-ARR gameplay trailers I would immediately lose interest. As an outsider I found absolutely nothing appealing about them at all - all I saw were odd and/or comical scenes and characters standing around stationary for far too long with enough particle effects to blot out the sun. The content looked drab, the editing seemed horrendous, and ultimately the videos made little sense.
And that's really too bad, because (despite the trailers) I eventually bit the bullet and decided to give the game a try first hand, and now I've really been kicking myself in the pants for not jumping back in to FFXIV-ARR sooner. Those videos didn't just fail to entice me to give the game a try, the went as far as discouraging me from looking further.
Now, as an active player, the videos make more sense. But it's difficult to ignore the negative impact they had in luring me as a customer to this product. I really like this game, I'm just disappointed that I can't use videos like this one to lure more friends to it - I know them and their reaction to it would not be good at all (and yet they'd probably really like this game).

they do this for E3 they did it last year :3 and my money is on them doing it again this year as wellI'm probably going to get stuff thrown at me for saying this, but I really wish SE would try to make their trailers more appealing to people who aren't already playing FFXIV. Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
The patch is for current players so it's geared to them. It makes sense. This isn't intended to be general advertising.I'm probably going to get stuff thrown at me for saying this, but I really wish SE would try to make their trailers more appealing to people who aren't already playing FFXIV. I completely understand that. However, can you point to some non-CGI SE-created gameplay videos for FFXIV that would be appealing to someone who isn't already playing the game? Because I would like to show them to a few friends/potential subscribers for a change.
Edit: Also, while I understand who these trailers are aimed at, I can't say I agree with the wisdom of not attempting to use these trailers as an opportunity to attract new players. In my opinion they're simply fan-service and wasted opportunities. Some better gameplay trailers with more focus would have gone a long way towards getting me on board sooner.

Just saw the trailer and ya the ending part of the Trailer is just like how Heavensward Teaser trailer started.
With the battle against a mighty dragon infront of Ishgard's Gates.
Guess Part 2 will be the other half of the Heavensward Teaser Trailer where the Dragon Invasion of Ishagrd while we defend Ishgard from the Dragons inside the City.
You do not need to already be playing this game to appreciate the trailer.
Just a few of the things this trailer shows us:
-a number of dungeons
-the types of enemies you will be facing in these dungeons
-the bosses you will be fighting in these dungeons
-gameplay from a trial where you fight Odin, who anyone that has ever played a Final Fantasy game before would know of
-footage of the new 24 man raid
-footage of the bosses from the above raid
- epic music
All the above look and sound fantastic. I don't need to have played the game to be interested by the footage they've shown. They could have summarised the story for those new to it, but of course, that would mean they would have to spoil the story for those that haven't experienced it. They could have produced an instructional video that explained how to play the game, but such a video would be ridiculously boring and not hold anyone's attention, especially considering how short the average gamer's attention span is in this day and age. If you want to get people interested in the game you wow them with footage of epic boss fights. Which is what they've given us.
This isn't official, but it's a pretty nifty music video made exclusively with normal gameplay and video capture by a player. This might sell some folks, imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_dHioa7ZqcI completely understand that.
