To be honest they have a very huge marketing potential when it comes to releasing the "Golden Saucer' rather than have events in game that are "seasonal", they could just release new items/gear through the Golden Saucer or even Triple Triad cards that promote upcoming games/releases.

I love this idea, there are so many outfits I'd love to see come over just for the fun of it.

Orrrrr they could have a section of the Saucer devoted to "Ads" that support upcoming games, in the form of a stage on which a performance is acted out relating to that game. Could have some real fun with that. I suppose there'd have to be SOME kind of reward for sitting through it, though. Like you said, promotional items like rare cards for TT, or even vanity gear like T-shirts. lol

They have that in Phantasy Star Online 2. Big screens showing commercials for recent Sega games and promotions. They'd play the audio if you were standing close enough to them.

Maybe a crossover event to promote KH3? Since the void is loosely connected in both games its possible the the Organization enter this world to drain people's hearts and its up to you to fight them to stop that from happening. Plus after looking at the Ascians hilariously identical looks and demeanor and location I wouldn't be surprised if they went through with this.
