I've seen it drop maybe 7 times since ST came out and every single time I've rolled on it I get anywhere between a 20 and 35 and some other person wins it with a 90 something. I know RNG and all but holy crap. Only seeing the minion drop maybe once every 20+ runs is way too rare for a minion that can't even be traded.
I've seen it drop about 3 times in all this time, I want!!![]()
If it drops every single time then it practically is. Within a week everyone who wants one would have it done. 100% drop rates tend to have that effect. Increase the drop rate sure, but don't make it guaranteed. Some items are supposed to be rare and coveted.
No it isn't. It can drop every time and you still have to win the roll against anyone else interested in it, which can be the other 23 players.
And why should it matter if it's a sure drop? I don't see anyone complaining that sands, oils and UATs are guaranteed drops from the last 2 bosses.

Fyi, people did complain about this because it was practically serving i110 on a platter with people who did SCoB, which hadn't been opened to all yet, saying thanks to SE for making their time irrelevant in raid.
For the OP though, sucks that the drop rate for you is so bad. I've never had a problem with it, personally. Keeping in mind that if you see a minion per every five runs, it's still way better than any pony drop. Going on 100+ Shiva EX and never seen a pony once. RNG is RNG. Consider this though, all my friends ran ST only once a week for loot back when it was current...and then after it was unlocked completely, we ran it like, 3 times a day for Sands/Oils (and always were outbid) and in that time, all the people in our group got the Onion Knight.
How does it make it irrelevant when you've used it for months already.
Minions aren't "needed" for anything. Some items should be hard to get. As a collector myself, it feels nice to have something special that not everyone else has. I'd rather tear my hair out getting it and have it actually be rare than to get it day 1 along with every other person in the world. I like the minions part of the game as is: some are easy, some are a bit harder, some are fairly rare, and then some are crazy hard to get. The Onion Knight falls in the latter category. Oooooh well.
I've only seen the onion knight drop once. And I rolled a freaking 1. (Just like ST won't let me win any lots on sands and oil...)
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
My best roll on the wind up onion knight was a 96. I lost it -_- I've been trying for that damn pet since ST launched, and have yet to win it lol. Sadly, I don't see it being a 100% drop as helping, because there WILL be those people that roll on it even though they've learned it already, just to stop others from getting it.
