Au Ra physiology and other lore.

Hey folks, some people have mentioned that Kazuya Takahashi, one of the artists for FF14 recently posted some artwork of an Au Ra on his twitter page. I'm not really certain this is an Au Ra, but what do you guys think?


There's a number of oddities here that make me doubt this is actually an Au Ra. For one, the character lacks a tail. Just beneath the horn is a long, tapered ear, similar to those of elezen or lalafell. There's a white marking on the cheek, which can't be a patch of scales since the horns are black. There's no scales on the lower arm (and we already know that the scales are symmetrical on the body). All in all, this pic doesn't really bear a resemble to earlier Au Ra work, but I figured I post it here to get your thoughts.

Yep, that's what I figured, but a few people I chatted with were insistent that it was an Au Ra art.
