Unless the girls you date are all four feet tall, you STILL haven't experienced the tragic plight of the Au Ra male. XD

The most amazing thing i've taken from this topic is that, if I were in Eorzea, at 6'4" i'd be taller than many Elezens.

In that sense, i'm not too unfamiliar with the height difference the Au Ra have to deal with in relation to females. ;_;

But if they're really up there at 7' tall then it's far worse than even I can imagine.

Good point. Lol. All the girls I've dated have been around 5' 2"- 5' 4" so I still havn't had this EXACT problem. The Au'ran males are easily 2.5 feet taller than the females.

Nothing quite like getting swept off your feet though, this shorty approves of the height differences.

I'm only 4' 9" IRL, lol. Any guy I'd date would be a giant compared to me, especially those that are your height.

Hey folks, some people have mentioned that Kazuya Takahashi, one of the artists for FF14 recently posted some artwork of an Au Ra on his twitter page. I'm not really certain this is an Au Ra, but what do you guys think?


There's a number of oddities here that make me doubt this is actually an Au Ra. For one, the character lacks a tail. Just beneath the horn is a long, tapered ear, similar to those of elezen or lalafell. There's a white marking on the cheek, which can't be a patch of scales since the horns are black. There's no scales on the lower arm (and we already know that the scales are symmetrical on the body). All in all, this pic doesn't really bear a resemble to earlier Au Ra work, but I figured I post it here to get your thoughts.

She's wearing platform shoes, obviously compensating for the radical height difference between the male and female Au Ra.
