The Ninja Superthread

Now my question is: do Ninjutsu spells like Katon scale off our INT state? In other words do I need to place points into INT to make those skills more powerful? I'm really confused because they say Ninja's scale off of DEX but does DEX affect the fire, lighting and ice spells you cast?

P.S While I'm at it, what's the best Job for a Rogue/Ninja? I assume Leatherworker?

All of your skills, even the magic ones, scale off of DEX. INT does nothing for NIN, and, unless you're soloing, neither does STR (just to head that one off). Now, Raiton and Katon are affected by a BRD playing Foe Requiem, though, which really the only thing we have in common with the casters.

Edit: And if you're going to be serious about crafting, you're pretty much going to want to level all of them. See the Disciples of the Hand forum for details.

I see! Thank you so much for clearing that up. I was very confused there for a bit. Thankfully I've been placing all of my character points in DEX ever since I've been able too. As for jobs, I'll go to that forum instead. Again, thank you!

They actually /do/ scale with int - the magic ones do, at least - but by such a small amount that it doesnt matter. +100 int gives you like 1 raiton damage lol.

Haha, that's silly. Why even bother at that point. Also, can I ask other questions in this thread about Ninja's? I know this is more of a battle/rotation thread but I have a few questions I wanna ask. Or should I go someplace else for that?

Am i doing decent enough dps for my ilv? I get around 460 at around 3 minutes depending on lag. I feel this is a bit low though. Tips?

Yeah, Idk what to tell you then - WTFast worked for me, though... It didnt really decrease my latency a lot.

I can get as low as 18-25ms latency consistent and mudra lag is still a thing to deal with. Granted, it would be much, -much- worse without the VPN, but even if you were sitting next to the servers in Montreal, it would still be there. It just offers the question of if this game was built to handle .5sec cool downs like this. It has actually been worse since the recent 2.45 hotfix patch. Its weird though, some areas I am fine, but some the delay creeps up on you a lot. Particularly in Coils it can get real bad and it is shame because when it happens I already see my DPS dropping to 20-30 below what it should be. This is the first job I have played where I feel I have to rely on the servers to keep my DPS in check more than my ability to play said job.

I tested it my self, 0 points in dex, 0 dex gear on, spam raiton.
30 points in int, spam raiton. Not that hard, really.
