    • Step 1:Press CTRL+M and then drag and drop [1] & [2]. I also use [3] & (1). Those are on F1, F2, F3 & F4 for me. Then mark the target you're gonna pull OR if you can't pull the adequate target to burn down first, mark it, then pull some other to bring em all to you (if there are closeby mobs, DO NOT RUN TO YOUR TARGET OR YOU'RE GONNA "BODY" PULL THE WHOLE ROOM (ie: Aurum Vale for exemple, I've seen tanks in full iLv110+ gear rage quit that shit cause they were so bad at positioning lol) Of course some dps are just just brain dead and won't follow the kill order. But then you can let them die after repeated tunel dpsing on a non marked (even on the 'do not attack' mark) mobs. That teaches them not to mess with the tank
Pull it with {Tomahawk}. You got that on a keyboard shortcut I hope?
    • Step 2:If you can't properly aim {Overpower} then use {Flash} instead, TWICE minimum, maybe even THREE TIMES to make some good aggro lead.
Then spam your Butcher's Block combo till you run out of TP lol. On target [1] first, but don't forget to TAB TARGET cycle between the mobs to build some more aggro on the others.
Especially if you got some BLM, SMN or BRD who's gonna dot them all and aoe that shit
    • Step 3:???
    • Step 4:Profit!

PS: There is no way you can lose aggro like that, unless you got some final coil geared dps bursting all their cooldowns 1 sec after you pull. I was tanking syrcus tower with my artifact gear (avg ilv 55) and had no issue at all for ex. And there were some good dps. Gear doesn't make you able to cheese aggro mechanics.

What Ilvl are you? I was having trouble with my tank, gave him a Sol Wep and some iron works gear mixed with some lvl 90 gear and it improved HEAPS. Only Ilvl 98 or so on him, but found going from 85-98 made a very noticeable difference.

Basically farm Sol/Poetics and get better gear. ST would also help, easy ilv100 gear

Tanking is really not that hard at all lol. You just need to read your skills' tooltip to see which one has "Does INCREASED ENMITY" and use some defensive cooldowns here and there and your golden.
Of course if you don't know how to position yourselves (for ex to aim an Overpower) that's another thing.

Compared to some dps classes where, IF you want to improve, you gotta work on an ideal rotation to optimize buffs, debuffs etcetera, tanking is a piece of cake since you just spam Overpower or Butcher's block and people will go "wow he can holds aggro"... xD

If it's his first character and class ever (after 3 months it's time to learn the class you're playing though, if you can't by yourselves there are online guides) then he can't do any duty of an higher iLv than his own.

I went through all the dungeons from ilv55 to 80 by doing some and then run Labyrinth for some easy ilv80 gear and then Syrcus (where in both case a fresh tank is much less painful than some fresh dps hitting like wet noodles ;D) for iLv100.

You can also do HUNTS, yeah that thing is still working. There are linkshells. You can do those naked lol. You get plenty of Tomestone(s) of Soldiery + some Poetics off S Ranks & some Allied seals. With Allied Seals you can then buy Blood Spattered Logs (or have those drop from S Ranks, they drop directly in your inventory) and then trade 2 for an Oil of Time or 3 for a Sands of Time. Oils are used to upgrade Soldiery accessories & Sands main armor (left side) & weapons, from iLv100 to 110.

You can get full iLv110 gear in a week, doing no group content at all lol. Except maybe some Syrcus Tower runs to speed the Oils/Sands of Time acquisition process... And you can pretty much be carried from start to finish there.

But as I said gear doesn't replace aggro mechanics and gameplay knowledge

Im currently i61 quite low, i understand well about rotations and hate control, just seems the undergearing is my problem. Not much i can do when everyone i party with is 40+ ilvl to me, still day one well lv 15 i pull with tomahawk (sign 1) > overpower no one ever really follows due to omgmydpsamazingsolopleascuremeimdieing #blame tank
Just working towards st now almost there
I will defo use the party finder suggestion hopefully i can find some dps that will give me some room to breathe
And will stay will clear of normal duty finder until im a much better ilvl
Zenith has made a great improvement over my i70 weapon

    Spam ST x infinity.

If you're interested in improving mass pulls, this is an easy rotation that can be done at basically any gear level:

    Pull everything together -> Infuriate -> Unchained -> OP -> Berserk -> OP -> Vengeance -> HS -> Bloodbath -> Maim -> OP spam

You can also use Steel Cyclone over Unchained if you want to save Unchained for bosses or it's on CD and move your buffs earlier in the rotation. If you're comfortable enough with the dungeon you're running, you can also drive-by HS one mob from a pack then drive-by Maim a mob in another pack to get up Maim early and basically just spam OP, popping CDs, and etc.

CDs are important for big pulls as you'll be taking a lot of damage, but WAR's CDs are more active and based on the damage you're dealing so you'll need to know when to use and when to save certain stuff. You can basically alternate between Vengeance and Thrill + Conv per pull as all 3 sit on a 2 min CD. As you run more dungeons you'll get used to the flow and it'll be a breeze. @50 nobody really single targets down things unless they're MNK (even then they'll throw in some AOE), so keeping AOE aggro is basically all you'll be doing outside of boss fights.

    Good luck!

Never had any aggro issues at all even as fresh 50, with just the ilv80 relic since that was like a free weapon.
I did some hunts while waiting for the main questline duty queues to pop which also helps gearing up in no effort.

Unlocking the pinata loots aka Labyrinth & Syrcus Tower also helps ALOT. But you gotta work unlocking those.

If people are that overgeared and don't realise the difference in generated aggro compared to a fresh tank (which is easily noticeable just looking at HP values on the party list) then those are simply douches.

Even though I'm pretty sure just spamming Butcher's Block non stop on one target with a tomahawk pull OR Flash/Overpower till out of TP on more than one target WILL KEEP AGGRO ON YOU.

Butcher's Block combo generates SEVEN TIMES the damage it deals as enmity. Overpower is SIX TIMES the damage dealt. That's with Defiance ON ofc. Flash is considered a 500 potency aoe. Probably affected by the +50% multiplier of Defiance as well.
Source: http://valk.dancing-mad.com/tables/enmity-tables/ & my own testings

Duty finder is cross server btw. I never got any douche, but I did have a lot of crappy tanks. Most were closed to constructive criticism too lol.

In the case were you really do your job as supposed to OP, well then farm your ass off hunts / Labyrinth / Syrcus tower to quickly raise in gear I guess?

Gear comes fast to whom seeks it... Really fast

You may want to run with a premade if you're afraid of douches and retards though

Forgot about Berserk. That and the skill after you get to 5 stacks of fury to remove the -25% damage dealt malus from Defiance.
Using both (IIRC Berserk is off global cooldown) and you DEAL MASSIVE damage. There is no way to lose aggro with that.

    CM/Praetorium for Solderies

    ST for Gear/Solderies/Poes.
    This.

And farm solderies in duty roulette low level and get you ilvl 100 gear and try to upgrade it to 110 with sands of time, you can get a piece a day and body/jegs in two days. Your ilvl should be near to 90 in a week.

So basically, everyday you should do this at least:
    - Duty Roulette Low Level
    - Duty Roulette Main scenario
    - The 2 raids we have and lot on need on sands and oils of time (used to upgrade the ilvl100 to 110).

With those you should not have problems with your actual ilvl, you can try and do others like:

    - Duty roulette High level
    - Duty roulette Expert
but in those 2 you may be fustrated till your ilvl is 90+

A tank is only as good as his gear. The enmity thing is easy once you got the equip. Unchained, berserk, and overpower are a crazy combination for aggro generation.

A true tank embrace both mental and phyical that is what make us a true tank when your mind is weak you will lose sight of your believes and that's when your frontline falls, you the frontline weak is not a excuse stand-up and embrace it, keep trying.
