I've tanked and healed. Currently healing but I can say that, myself personally, treat the situations as it merits it. It doesn't matter what role you fill ultimately you'll get idiots like that. Now, kit is paramount for tanks and healers no matter what the content. DPS can skirt by unless they do coil. That being said everyone should at least try to play to their best. Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning the acts that are done by those you have stated however balancing skill/kit is rough on a healer nevermind a tank. I started on a Warrior and last DoW I leveled was Paladin. I like neither and I hope Dark Knight fixes my tank issues. In the end play what you like OP. That's what you'll play best.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

I understand what you mean, my main class is healer but I like to tank to change the pace once in a while. I did not touch my PLD for a couple of months and after doing one run, I could not keep hate since my gear was below i90 all together. I had to do some serious grinding and get it pas i100 to keep up with elites.

My suggestion is just what I did. On dungeons said your ilevel and said "thank you for your patience", you are probably not going to get kick ( at least I was never kick) because finding a replacement tanks is a pain in the butt right now. Second set a micro to number the mobs you want them to kill first to help manage hate, if they don't follow the numbering let them tank that mob or die.

After you get your ilevel to 85, do ST runs to get gear and sands/oils to purchase some gear. Tanking ST is simple and you get plenty of help. You will be fine, remember that the great thing about been a tank right now; is that you set the flow since you can get into another dungeon in a instant.

Honestly you should get into Syrcus Tower ASAP and run it until your eyes bleed. Once you get an i110 Conqueror you'll never have issues again.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

I want to hug all my fellow tanks, it's the hardest role in FFXIV and it can burn you out (make you quit the game) really easily (take note SE). Just try to get higher level gear any way you can and also research to see what cross-class skills you need from other classes. You need flash and provoke from Gladiator and a few things from Monk.

@OP - I have a second character where I'm learning how to tank efficiently as PLD, and I just put up a Party Finder (on Excalibur), and people join pretty fast, for the most part, and I just put on the comment "low ilvl, first time, slow and easy" let's people know you won't be skipping the tiny 15 second cut scene in the beginning either!

I wish you the best of luck, and patience because as only a few classes know, we'll need it

I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.

This sounds like a gear issue. Upgrading gear, esp your axe, is your best bet. Like others have said ST is likely your best bet.

If i pull a couple of mobs at a time people run off and bring the rest of the map to me, 1v1 on a mob i have no chance, will voke it off them > double inner beast flash everything i have and boom i still lose hate.
Just got my zenith relic and will be crafting a full set of i70 gear tonight in the hope that helps.
just a rant really that is all
It is an issue with people. They do not take into account the party when expecting to do dungeons. As a warrior you have it worse then an new pld at 50 as well. Aka you take more dmg.

People get use to Ilvl 100+ tanks with 8-11k hp and 700 def taking next to no dmg. a healer can only heal so much if you have 7-8k hp on warrior tanking mobs hitting you for 2500dmg every 2 secs. it is more then your healer can heal. Alot of people do not take this into account.

As a new warrior at 50, I suggest not doing mass pulls in any of the newer dungeons. 3-4 mobs will be ok, but more then that unless you have a godly healer you will die unless you are Ilvl 105+. Also if a blm drops 3-4 2k aoe nukes in 5secs you will not hold hate unless you have a I110 weapon more then likely.

As for hate on warrior. Steel Cyclone is a nice hate spike on aoe mobs, alot more then flash. And overpower is your friend about twice the hate as flash. IF things are going wrong, aka healer cannot keep up homgang can give them some breathing room. Vengeance on any large pulls.

IF DDS(dps) are pulling mobs for you simple rule. Let them die it is 100% their fault. IF they leave they get the penalty, dds are a dime a dozen and you will get new ones in like 2mins tops. IF they kick you report them for abuse and get them temp banned. When you start tell them you are new to 50 and X Ilvl. Most people will agree to do smaller pulls because everyone at 50 knows what happens when you have a newer tank or healer. If you try to mass pull it will be a wipe fest. Yea it will take 3-4mins longer but there will be no deaths if you play it safe.

Just pull the so many mobs you know you can handle. Then rest has to adapt to it.
Im not talking about 1 mob at time beacuse that will just creat to much whines.

I'd also suggest (since I don't see it mentioned) running the daily low level roulette. Will give you tomes and put you with people who won't out gear you. Main Scenerio Roulette too if you've unlocked that. Syrcus is fun anyways, and that requires multiple tanks, so could try that one too.
