You must have checked like at least half a month ago because there are zero small plots on Balmung that are available. None even in the subdivisions; all that's left are a few mediums and larges.
Not just rich PLAYERS. RMT's will do this, as well. Introduce this system and you can say goodbye to any available housing now and in the future.Pretty much this.
Rich people will snap up every small plot in a ward, then try to sell them back for exorbitant prices.
Devs please do NOT let this happen.
There should be a way to transfer ownership of a Personal House, but tie it to an ingame system, with a lengthy cooldown period where you can't sell another for a very long time.
agree in theory with op
players already gouge millions from other players on the MB as is /selling runs etc
there needs to be a way to sell ones home...period either to someone else or back to the city somehow.
SE definitely needs to add this and unrestrict the amount of available homes /server. its far too limited for such a modern game.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
RMT will never be able to buy housing. How many RMT do you know that are max rank in Grand Companies and have finished the Main Storyline? Unless they purchase an already established FC with a house; which they don't spend their earned gil, then I doubt RMT will ever enter the housing market. In essence; RMT Make money, they don't spend it. Especially not large amounts of it.

Hyperion already had people whom bought up property for the purpose of marked up resale.
It would be nice if SE could come up with a way to make it easier for players to move and upgrade their plots. Afterall, the typical progression would be to start in a small and strive to one day move into a large. Rather than reselling, maybe give a credit once you relinquish land. Not a gil source, but just a credit of a certain percentage of the lowest possible cost of the plot you originally purchased towards the new plot. But then again that would give players moving base an advantage over new comers in the market once a plot opens up.
Regardless, it'd be nice to see something done for this. As players are already abusing the real estate system as it is.
There should just be a "for sale" sign on plots that people are selling. The set the price and buy directly from there. Ownership will transfer automatically. All previous housing items get sent to claims where the owner can pick them up after their plot sold. That's just my idea though.
I'm saying that Balmung is a special server and that not all servers have a huge amount of RP'ers like Balmung does.
Yes and if you're a sane player and don't care about RP, you'd rather buy a medium plot than pay twice for a small plot.
Don't defend RP'ers! We are the scum of the earth because we do crazy things. Like raid to get the vanities because we want to look le smexy while RP'ing. *rubs self up and down*
Limit the houses you can buy to 1 a year, account bound limit, and don't let us own more than one house, FC houses apart, problem... half... solved.
My FC owns a S house in a first ward, we could get arround 10m for it, and use the gil to upgrade to a M one, i could sell the house to another player for 10-15m, but if i relinquish it we'll get nothing and the plot will be back to 18m, the original price plus 2m for the building, this is the case in balmung.
It doesn't take full main story line to buy a house, I'm pretty sure you can buy one without progressing very far past story Ifrit at level ~20.RMT will never be able to buy housing.
