Is this Zodiac weapon dungeon grind getting into ppl's heads?

I've been on the df most of the time yesterday, while most of the tanks I've seen rush through without cooldowns, and most brds didn't even care to cast ballad even if my mp was below 1.5 K just to cast swiftsong, there were a few that did properly use CDs and even ask before we start if I was ok with normal or big pulls. So I guess it depends on the tanks themselves.

The Zodiac quests turned everyone into narrow minded tunnel vision players. I had a guy who was new to Snowcloak and the tank just took off. Every time I tried to explain to the newbie what the boss mechanics were, said tank just rushed in and started the fight. Tank never said a word either.


It's things like this that give tanks a bad name.

I can blame them if they start running without even explaining to newbies on what to do. If you want to speed run for zodiac that badly, go do it with your FC or in a PF.

maybe I am just mean but if they decide to do a stupidly large pull without even asking I just watch them die a couple times until they get the idea to either ask or go a normal pace.

Are you capable of healing that large pull? If the answer is yes, you're on the wrong. You're just slowing down the party for the sake of being a (for lack of a better word) douche.

Are you not capable of healing it? The answer is no, and you should've made your point. Though then there's whether or not you're slowing the run more than it should because you're more than capable of healing more than single packs.

And though this doesn't apply to you, I've seen some healers that try to dictate how fast the run should go; "I'm not healing unless you full clear/pull everything/pull one at a time" regardless of what the party itself wants, and regardless of what the healer themselves are capable of doing. That's just as bad as the tank refusing to pull anything or everything regardless of the party composition or wants.

I've noticed a higher rate of this in my journey for WHM Nirvana, It really made me appreciate the good tanks out there who know how to do big pulls well.

As for the bad ones.... My hunch is there must be some DPS queuing as tanks to avoid their dreaded, never-ending DPS queue to get their weapon faster. They've seen large pulls, and maybe they aren't career tanks, so they are mimicking the motions but do not have the pulls down to perfection(bad timing on cooldowns, not using cooldowns, LOS the healer, erratic movement such as stopping, having the group believe they are stopped then decide to pull more 30% in)... resulting in failed pulls. That combined with getting newer DPS in the group and a tank not having patience certainly made for some headaches.

I'd rather be spamming dungeons than spamming spiritbonded items and getting elemental resist, dexterity, and skill speed materia instead of det and crit. Hell I'd rather go back to farming atma at this point. So the Dungeon drops while I can't do them yet sound much more fun / resonable than the Novus step.

Nothing quite like watching a tank pull everything up to the boss room, not use any cooldowns, and drop faster than a DRG eating landslides.
