fix is coming with 3.0 (new healer)
The main reason I don't do low level dungeons as a level 50 job is that I'm so limited. If the gear was synced but my skills weren't I might play it more often. Try playing summoner in satasha and say "I had fun" afterwards. It's not possible
I often switch from tank to healer or reverse when entering Duty Roulette, so I pretty much wait about nothing compared to DPS.
However sometimes when doing weekly challenge to get a small boost when leveling another class, I go DPS on 3rd and 10th Guilhest.
To make the queue shorter on all the other queues, me and my buddy sign up together as tank+healer for those 8, which means istant start.
Instead when 3rd and 10th come and I go DPS, we wait for the two of that about all the time we took completing all the other 8 runs
Why am I saying this obvious thing, you may wonder.
Because since the day Duty Roulette came out neither me and my buddy EVER entered ANY Duty Roulette which had the "One Player" requirement, and that includes the elsewhere happily chosen Duty Roulette Guilhests.
Months ago, people on this forum were like somewhat superhappy that two-men teams like me and my buddy just couldn't enter the queue together. It's the lonely guy sindrome, which make them somewhat happy knowing un-lonely people at a disavantage to them.
They justified that by saying that number-wise, entering each one alone, would ease the queue process, rather than doing it together. Which, putting it that way, it's actually true.
However that cease to be true in the precise moment that Tank and that Healer (or even a Healer/Tank alongside a DPS, the useful role it's still there) don't get in that queue AT ALL, being it forbidden to be taken as a group.
I know many people like us who doesn't use any other roulette, because without the extra push of the increased bonus prize, we just don't see the reason to go to places like story raids or old trials. And we really don't. We didn't do till now, we won't in future.
Most of these kind of people are organized guys who rarely are DPS/DPS.
Just thing of married couples, "let's rush together!" friends and so on, at least one of them Always choose his/her role thinking about easing the leveling process and entering quicker in queues.
I'm not saying all of those people wouldn't absolutely queue alone, but it's a known fact that a part of them doesn't. Ever.
So, getting to the point, forbidding two players to queue for Duty Roulettes together, make that Tank or Healer or both that you could have to ease your queue forever unavaiable.
Making them being locked away from it a damage, for small as it can be, to everyone.
With the new expansion that Tera has received recently, they added a "Blast from the Past" instance matcher that functions exactly like Low/High Level Roulette where players can queue for it to help lower level players through the older instances to get them caught up. The great thing about it is that even though my level gets synced down for the dungeon, I get to keep all my skills and they get scaled down as well. It's not a complete bore doing the older dungeons with that setup.
thats because low lvl roulettes are very boring (half of your abilitys/magic gone) and the rewards are literally shit compared to the other roulettes especially since low lvl dungeons need a bit more time... I dont even bother doing low level roulettes as a healer for example. The queues for DPS in low level have been 30mins+ for me almost everytime, with most hitting the 45-60 min marks. This is very detrimental when you consider how many new players have joined the game. They all want to get through the main scenario dungeons but have to wait lengthy periods of time. This is a huge turn off (even for old players trying to level new jobs)
High level roullettes such as trials, expert, etc haven't been affected half as much as low level roullettes..
Low Level Roulette is the real crux.
- It needs better rewards. Personally, I think more gil would be the best reward, because they don't have any limits and are useful at every level. (Remember Low Level roulette is available from lvl 16 on.)
Alternatively: make it reward tokens for the lvl 50 armours we used to buy with obsolete tomes (Darklight, AF+, any future obsolete sets). Glamour for the lvl 50s, good armour to start into endgame for the newcomers.
- It needs to be accessible in a party. Duo-ing is the most common way MMO-players combine social time with game time.
A plus: I understand why keeping all your skills would be a balance problem, but at least let us keep all 5 cross-skills, for heaven's sake.
Ya there is not much you can do in that one just spam the same 3 or 4 actions how fun and boring and I always find myself trying to use skills I can't out of habit ( and also having Swiftcast mock me as there is nothing worth while to swift >.> I sometimes just swift Ruin just for the heck of it....)
