Sony and Square Enix Shame on You!

Just like the person above. I'm actually not playing tonight either, I'm currently out of town. For a lot of the people that celebrate Christmas, it is a time to gather together with family and friends so there's probably less activity on the servers, which is another good reason for them to schedule a maint for tonight.

It doesn't hurt to take a bit of time off from the game. I'm only going to be away for a few hours to go have dinner at a coworkers house since we're overseas and I'm not married.

Well, the maintenance is happening right now on Christmas in Southeast Asia. I don't think many people would be happy waking up on a public holiday with a hangover from celebrations the night before, only to find out that SE pulled the servers down for a maintenance again.

I just read through the other thread, and I pray that this maintenance is to add the special Starlight celebration items that are supposedly only becoming available on Christmas eve onwards

So PSN dropped for maintenance, and Square has planned maintenance tonight as well for the 2.45 hotfix.

How about instead you give your employees off early on this fine Christmas Eve like 99% of the other businesses world wide and stop jacking with prime gaming time!

Dear OP,

You know this may be a news flash but Square and Sony are two different companies. Square has literally ZERO control over Sony's maintenance schedule so you coming here acting like you have a right to be upset at Square over what Sony is doing is unjustified in it's entirety. You have a Playstation instead of a PC. This is something you have to deal with. I have a PC and this has never once been an issue. You made your bed by choosing to play on a Sony console so it's time to be happy with the consequences.

This may also be a news flash but not everyone celebrates Christmas so please don't think you're helping people who may very well be happy to have the hours and the paycheck for working last night.

If I thought Square and Sony were the same company I wouldn't have put "Square and Sony".

As for the rest of you arguing about who celebrates Christmas and who doesn't... it was never about that. The thread is about managing a maintenance Schedule. When all of the Children are out of school, and everyone is on vacation for the holidays, there will be an influx of people playing video games.

I have 4 children who were unable to play their brand new PS4 last night. (PSN got the same rant from me as square did) Personally I play on PC,

let me explain... when you sit with your family on Christmas Eve who's disappointed about not being able to use their new present... or get on the PC and enjoy the next best thing... What you do next is you go to the companies involved and express your disappointment, in hopes they will take note and avoid things like this in the future.

as for Tiggy who think I'm crucifying Square for Sony's actions. It looks more like DDoS on Sony's end, where Square on the other hand made this choice.

I don't think there's any argument that DDoSers need to have horrible things happen to them. It's kinda funny how they really have become the Scrooge and Grinch wrapped into one ugly misshapen package of hate this year. But at least those two grew a conscience.
It really isn't sony's fault your kids couldn't enjoy their PS4.
