Thank you for not using the cash shop in the Gold Saucer

As much as we tell you when we disagree with what you put in the cash shop and what not, I think it's fair to tell you that it's a pleasant surprise to see that you won't put any part of the Gold Saucer (cards and other features) on it, and that it all will be freely accessible by playing the game normally. This is the game direction that I personally like and enjoy.

It's a bit sad that we have to thank you for doing something that should be the norm, in my opinion, but thank you anyways, regardless of the reasons for your decision (online casinos, blahblah). I hope that you keep our opinions -all of them- in mind the next time that you have to decide something related to the cash shop.

P.S.: This thread is intended to be positive feedback about a design decision that I like and welcome, specifically about the Gold Saucer, so that the devs can see that we don't simply complain to complain about everything without any reason. It's not aimed to be a cash shop vs no cash shop flame war, please, so keep that in other threads.

Of course they weren't going to put any limitation and cash shop for the golden saucer, the players wouldn't accept it, not yet anyway, but don't worry the coolest items will still be in the cash shop, only the less cool will be in the golden saucer.

The only reason you "have to thank them" is because of the false assumption that it would have used the cash shop when 99% of any update never even touches it to begin with and the golden saucer is a major component in 2.5b's update.

It's not a false assumption if you look at the most recent patch, where half of it was cash shop related, with a 66% of the major feature being in the cash shop for real money.

FLAME war. Talking about it is fine, as long as people are nice and don't get into the usual crap talk, putting words in other people mouths, namecalling... You get the idea.

It's a standard because some people put a lot of money into them, thus making it profitable enough. These people are NOT the majority, by far, and it doesn't mean that the rest of the people are fine with these cash shops.

I didn't mean cash shop cash shop , now we have a vanity cash shop, which is accepted, but a content/cap remover cash shop wouldn't be accepted.

I think a majority of players think that vanity cash shop are okay in a P2P MMO these days, because a majority of players doesn't really bother about it, of course a minority is actually buying and another part is strongly against.

Well, I thank SE for this, but everything must be said, Yoshi stated clearly that relating a casino like game with a RMT/cash shop model would give them more problems than money, you know, age rates, national laws...

The decision is right, the idea behind it is not.

They didn't even try to get some good PR and say stuff like "We've decided against using the cash shop for Golden Saucer, for you, the players!", it was just "Yah, we couldn't because we didnt want to deal with the international laws and such regarding gambling".

But I'm getting ahead of myself, complex online casino laws saved Triple Triad for me \o/.

They use GP (or whatever the token name would be), but you buy it with gil.

Sure they said it this way and not just you thinking what they would have said?

The prizes exist to bring the players to play the mini games. Nobody would visit golden saucer if there is nothing to win.
Putting the prizes into the cash shop would be counterproductive.
